I am a stay at home mother and wife and I have noticed that I clean at different times, depending on my mood. I straighten the house daily and try to clean (top to bottom) 1 or more rooms a day. Today, I pretty much didnt' do much, but then started cleaning around 7 in the evening. I cleaned the living room and kitchen top to bottom. This can't be normal...LOL...who cleans so late in the evening. Most people, I believe, do it first thing and get it over with. But, I have never been too excited to clean. If I had to clean right when I woke up, I believe I'd be in a bad mood all day. So, my question, when do you clean your house?

Usually in the evening so its clean when we get up. I will do little thing like laundry or dishes when ever but the majority of the cleaning is done before bed. I thought I was the only one that did it that way!

Good for you. I like clean surroundings that smell fresh and even fragrant.
Though many people have this belief of not cleaning at night, I still do.

I used to have a schedule and did certain things on certain days but lately I have been too sick to do much of my housework so it is not getting done. My husband tries to do both his work and mine but he cant do it all. I will have to get back on schedule as soon as I get to feeling better.

I'm just not a morning person anyway. If I had to get up and immediately start cleaning house, I believe I would have a coronary.

I clean at weird times of the day but usually during the later morning/early afternoon time. Or whenever the baby is content for awhile I start up. I should clean late at night though because Kaylie can mess up a room within seconds. So I could imagine cleaning when they are in bed probably is the ultimate time to clean.

As soon as I get up in the morning I make my daughters lunch and get her off to school. Then I start the cleaning about 8:30 am or so. I clean until the whole house is done as well as do the laundry inbetween. This is a daily ritual for me...every single day. I am obessed with a clean home and can not have anything out of place. I walk around after the kids and pick up all day. After dinner I usually relax (unless I am working) then I go on my cleaning spout again before I go to bed. Not usually as extreeme...but I make sure the kids rooms are cleanbefore I tuck them in and usually do the dishes. It is a never ending cleaning story around here...HA HA. One that I am used to...and cant seem to just take it easy at all until it is done.

I have a friend that is the same way, some people say to her, you need to relax, what they don't understand is, unless certain things are done, she can't relax. She is happy with her life and how she does things, so I say leave her alone. I just wish she lived at my house lol

Usually mid-afternoon of a day off. When I first get up, I like to have coffee and enjoy the computer for a bit. THen I start in on house cleaning. On weekends, I enlist the help of the kids and hubby, afterall, they help mess it up and I work outside the home!

I just clean whenever I notice something is messy. I sweep our bedroom once a week but that's really all I ever do in there. We don't have carpet anywhere in the house except the baby's room so I rarely vacuum except twice a week in his bedroom. It's too much of a pain to carry the vacuum up and down the stairs all the time, so if I have to vacuum downstairs for some reason, I wait until my husband is home and do it in the evening, that way he is the one that has to carry it. Otherwise I just sweep.
I do clean the bathroom two days a week. I usually do it when my son is taking his afternoon nap. If I did it while he was awake he would be trying to put something in the toilet so it wouldn't work.
Most of the cleaning I do is just helping my son pick up his toys, and putting away laundry. Of course when I cook, I put everything away and put the dishes in the sink. My husband is the one to actually load the dishwasher, though. And he also washes all the laundry. Otherwise I just sweep up dog hair and pick up any messes they make. I find it easiest to do it as they make the messes.
I used to just clean once a week when I worked everyday, but I found that we were just too messy that way and it seemed like our house was always messy. Now I clean up every time I get up from the couch or the table or wherever and things stay cleaner.
My 13 month old son is already showing signs of being a neat freak so that helps too. He picks up all his toys himself and puts them away. I only have to help him when he's tired or has too many toys out. He wants everything to go in a drawer somewhere and doesn't like his toys left out.

I try to clean everything on Mondays, so I don't have to worry about it the rest of the week (beside the smaller things). After I get my daughter off to school I start with the bathrooms, dusting, etc. Then the rest of the week I do laundry (an every day chore) and vaccuuming, little stuff like that.

I'm allergic to dust so i seldom clean the house. Just like you, i just do it when i feel like doing it. But usually, when i clean my room, i do it on weekend. I go home late during weekdays from work so i really don't have enough time to totally clean the mess. I just fix things but i don't consider it clean. =)

I clean when knocked off mylot of they are down for repairs!LOL
Really I hate to clean and do it when in the mood. the mood is usually LATE at night while all are asleep. I like to dishes(LOL I can't believe i said THAT) in the night and do not like to during the day because the sun shine right in the bay window over the sink for the better part of the day so it helps to wait until the sun goes down! Laundry I do in the mornings so I have all day to get in the mood to fold them!

I am a stay at home mom too and we do our major cleaning just after lunch. That is when we are in the high energy part of the day.
I also like to clean up before I go to bed so I can wake up to a clean home. For every day of the week except sunday we have a to do list so we always stay on top of the things Itend to forget like mop boards or under the beds.
I also believe t is important to teach the kids to clean. My Mother in Law did all the cleaning in her home and when I got married it was like raising a child to teach my husband we have a place for things. My kids are 5 and 2 and they each have their chores along with cleaning up after them selves. I hope to raise them to do most of the cleaning so I can take a break when they are older. I need some time off!

Because of working, the only time I really have to do it, is when I am off on the weekends. I am too pooped when I come home to do anything else.

I know, and I thought of another reason for it today. I have a 4 year old running around. As soon as I clean, he messes it back up. So, it's best to clean while they're asleep :).

I normal clean after lunch when I put my son down for his nap. Or if I don't have much to clean I clean little by little throughout the day. Like I'll get up make my bed because not gonna be in it anyway and so on.
