It's My Birthday ho hum

Yep it is after midnight so it is March 6 my birthday. I don't think it will be very eventful. The new year has not been very good for me. I am trying my hardest to find a job, and I cannot find one anywhere. I can't pay my bills. My lot doesn't work for notifications. I am still fighting the bank over a stupid paypal account. They kept sending all my money back to paypal. Paypal is charging me 30.00 for every amount returned, and so I am out 90. So I am still fighting with them because it is not my fault. I gave the right banking info, the problem lies somewhere between the bank and paypal.
Today is my birthday, I like to have dinner out with my man on my birthday each year. Guess what it is going to be -38 in montreal today and guess who is not going anywhere. My man has his own place and I have mine.
This is really turning out to be a great birthday isn't it.

Sorry to hear it hasn't been a great year so far. But just remember, it's just now the third month of the year, you have 9 more to turn it all around! Oh and Happy Birthday!! Just makes plans to celebrate when the weather gets better! My husband and I don't always get to do anything on our birthdays or anniversary since we have kids so we just plan it for when we can. It's not the actual date that matters, it's the memories you make when you do celebrate. Take a nice hot bubble bath, put on some music or read a book. Maybe light an aromatherapy candle and try to at least relax and be stress-free for an hour. Or better yet, close your eyes while laying there and take yourself to another world. Life will be there when you get back, no sense in spending every second thinking about it.
As far as the job situation. Not sure about Montreal, but a few sites you might try are monster.com, craigslist.com, hotjobs.com, your local news sites usually have classifieds, backpage.com, the newspaper, and just do a general search on the net. I don't know what your talents are or what area you are looking to work in but I am sure there is something out there for you. Just keep your head up and don't give up.

I agree with mizcheekz. It's hard to feel positive when so many negative things are happening in our lives, but we can't just give up. I'm saying this to myself too, as I seem to be having some of the same problems as you are. My age, health, the disintegration of my 'job', financial difficulties etc. all seem to be conspiring against me. I'm also a Canadian, and like to write, so am wondering too, where you freelance? Being a counsellor is a great career to have, so I trust something will turn up for you soon. Please, have a happy birthday anyway.

Uggg, banks can be such pains in the butt sometimes. I hope that they get everything fixed up for you. I wish I could do something about your weather, but like previous people have said you don't have to celebrate on your exact birthday. HAPPY BIRTHDAY WINTEROSE!!!! I hear you......Mine is in 2 days and I am not looking forwards to it...my family usually drags me to a restaraunt to humiliate me. HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Birthdays are very special they mark the day in which you entered this earth. However they do not mark how your life will be or let you know what to make of it.
Your really having a hard time right now but things do and will get better. Unfortunately you will have to do the work to make them better they never happen on their own and the bills still come in the mail even on our birthdays.
I mark my birthday as the start of my own personal new year. I take out my pad and paper and decide what I am going to do to make this year one to remember. Give it a try. Write down everything that went bad in the past year and what you can do to change it. Then give yourself some goals to make this year your best year ever.

I am sorry things are not going so well for you, and I hope it will all be straightened out in the near future. As for your birthday, come one it is just a day,you can celebrate any time you want to. do not let things like a particular day get you down, just be happy you have a day to celebrate, as well as some one to celebrate it with.

Awwww winterose I'm sorry you're having such a hard time of things right now.
I know exactly what you mean about those cold temps too. We suffered when we lived in Ontario 2 years back.

I could not go out it was too cold - 33, my boyfriend was working over time, nobody called me to see how my birthday was, but I got lots of emails and birthday cards from my cyber friends so that was wonderful.

I'm sorry to hear your birthday isn't going well. For my birthday last year my husband went to Marine World...with his brother-in-law! They hadn't gone on a bike ride in a while (they go about every other month when the weather is good) and as hubby's BIL was sporting, hubby went! They rode their motorcycles all the way there and back (from Sacramento) and I was stuck with the kids all day. And to top it off my husband told me about the whole trip...for weeks! The animals he saw, the rides, the whole flippin' thing! Like that would make me feel better?!? UGH!

Happy Birthday and don't let it all get you down. Try to do something fun like watch a movie you like and fix a favorite meal or dessert. I'm sorry you are having a hard time but I do understand because I've been out of work for six months and it's not a fun place to be.
I get my last Unemployment check in roughly two weeks, so I have to find something by then so I can pay rent and bills.

I'm sorry to hear that your birthday won't be exciting. If it is any consolation, my last three birthdays have not gotten off to a very good start, and so far 2007 has sucked, royally.
I wish you the best of luck with finding and keeping a stable job, and with getting the money together to pay your bills and keep a roof over your head.
And Paypal... ugh. It's a great company when it works, but when it doesn't? Bad. I would be screaming bloody murder if I lost that kind of money.
