The usage which you describes, than i would prefer to go for Desktop and if the question of mobility comes than buy a thumb drive and that will solve the question of mobility. I would prefer Desktop as it has many advantages. Just go for it. You can easily upgrade the hardware parts and that too at a cheaper rate. According to me to suffice your need just go for DESKTOP

I go with the two units, because if im going to use the laptop i can carry it anywhere i go and for the desktop i can load more games and upgrade it with a low cost.

If you want to do college stuff then you should better buy a laptop, but if you want gameing purpose then go for the desktop. Its also depends upon your budge, if you can afford expencive one then buy heavy processor laptop which is good for gaming purpose as well as your projects purposes.

hi this is kishan
laptop/desktop? ,typical question ,it all depends on the purpose you use it.for doing college project work if u need to take ur pc to the college then go foe the laptop orelse if u want to play games ( if that is the first priority )then i strongly recommend to go for a desktop because playing games in a laptop will decrease the speed of the processor also efficiency decreases, key board and panel will be very badly effected...

Go for a laptop and it provide you with the flexibility to work anywhere you like. The computer setting and data are with you all the time.
And for playing games, you might want to consider a LCD, so that you will not have Ergo issues after long usage on the laptop.

In my opinion I would recommend a desktop for the use that you describe. They tend to be less tempramental and usually have better and more powerful processors and memory. It is also easier to install add-ons. But you don't have the portability so can't take it with you to play the games or do your college work elsewhere. If you don't need to take it anywhere go for the desktop.
