Want to know about the p3 and p4

People were asking about is your computer P3 or P4. I couldn't understand what is that? can any one explain about me this?

The heart of a computer is the processor. It is the processor that determines the speed of the computing of your machine. The processor is nothing but a semiconductor chip. These chips have a unique number to identify them like 8088, 8086, 80286 etc. In this progression, 80586 was named as Pentium. Going forward it was abbreviated to P, so subsequent releases of Pentium came be known as P I , P-II, P-III, P-IV and so on and so forth. So that is P3 or P4 that people ask about your computer.
