At this age everything goes into a baby's mouth. I would make sure your sitter and you both have a place for her to play that is free of dangerous things. It may take baby gates to keep her in that area but it will be well worth it to avoid things she should not have in her mouth. Make sure to clean her toys regularly and baby proof the house. To do this get on the floor yourself and crawl around. Anything you see could be something that your baby could put in her mouth or put something into. They love to investigate at this time. So cover electric outlets too so she can not get shocked by putting a toy in the holes. Look for sharp corners too she will soon be talking and it only takes one bang on the corner of the coffee table to end up in the emergency room. Also make sure to clean under sofa cushions and chair cushions as their little hands can find the littlest of things under them. Once you start crawling around you will be able to see all the things your daughter can get into. Good luck!!

There is no way to avoid it, you just have to baby-proof your house and put all dangerous things out of her reach.

sounds like to need to buy some lysol spray.it kills 99% of germs in the household.this will help alot.an keep things put up out of her reach.these are the main thing you need to do.plus keep her in a playpen when your not around.this will keep her from getting hurt an grabbing stuff that could fall on her.but the lysol spray you can spray on anything.even her toys.

yuo can not avoid it! make sure she has something that she likes to play with! and change it every day, my nine months old one puts everything in her mouth too, and i watch out if the stuff is not too small so she can chooke on it. they are learning right now to touch, feel and eat things!just make sure there are no plants around her some of them contains poison! and for the rest there is not much you can do!

An infant this age is just going to mouth things. It goes with the territory. Hard breads and frozen teething toys are great. She just needs to be watched closely. And if she is in day care, she WILL be getting sick! Sorry!

Have you tried to give her some soft toys special for babies that she can bite ??? Pacifier (but don't get used to it) ??? Special baby snacks/cookies ??? I have the same problem when my daughter about that age and I always have special baby cookies around, so when I saw her hungry eyes I'll give her cookies and if she didn't want, I'll just give her special baby bite toys (big enough so she won't chooke). Good luck !!!
