Ok before anyone starts panicking I AM OK.
Blondie has done it again. I went in the Kitchen last Night to get some washing out the Machine, I left one of the Cupboards Doors open as I was getting a Plate out. Now these Doors have a Metal surround and of course very sharp. I was wearing my Socks as my Feet where cold and I do not like sleepers. I went to turn around to get a plate out of the Cupboard, as I turned I slipped it might have had something to do with it that I turned around to fast I don't know as I fell I hit the Mental sharp end with my Face just under my eye, at first I didn't feel any pain and I got up, then I saw the blood on my Hands. I started to panic a bit, looked in the Mirror and saw the Damage I had done, I have a lovely deep cut just under my Eye and a couple of scratches to go with that. Well it is typical of me as my Daughter says I am clumsy lol. So this morning, after taking a Friends advise and smothering it with cream then cover it, when she could not get me to go to the Hospital, it has eased the pain a lot and I have a lovely black eye to go with the cut and scratches. So I look lovely lol. I have sort of covered it with tinted Moisturizer and I am still putting plenty of Antiseptic cream on it, but oh my you can still see it. Never mind it is not the first and won't be the last. I am sure my Mum said that I had always been a clumsy Child to or was she on about my Brother lol. Well that will teach me I guess, DO NOT wear Socks on a stone Floor and DO NOT rush, do things in good time, so if you do not want to end up looking as lovely as me right now, lol, do not do those 2 things.

Gab, Gabs, Gabs, what can I say - you have to be careful and look after yourself a bit more! You're still poorly so a bit of gabsent mindedness is only to be accepted, but for goodness sake shut the cupboard doors and put your flip flops on in the kitchen if you have to wear socks. As you know I nearly always have bare feet but even then my stone kitchen floor can be slippery if it's been wet.
You've been poorly virtually since you moved and now this, I worry about you I really do, are you sure you're going to be ok?

Sweety I am fine be 100% so do not worry this could have happened anywhere to me. It is just one of them things that can happen to anyone love and I have such a good Friend that is logged on all Day to make sure I am ok and that helps and gives me advise when I need it. My Kids speak to me every Day I am just fine and I love it here and my little Flat. I have been poorly because of the Weather and the Stress on the Move, and you know I am getting there.

sounds like you were having a day like mine I am sorry you are injured but I am also glad it is not real bad you need to slow down and remember everything will still be there in those extra few seconds my dear,I worry about you and I know why you are accident prone just like me.I hope it heals quickly for you and you may need to get footies that have like a rubbery or something on them so they are not as slick.I hope you get well soon and please be careful my friend.

Always keep cabinet doors closed. Too close to the eye ... so you were very lucky. Either way, you should see a doctor just to make sure.
Also, you should wear ... something on your feet, evenb if not for better traction so you don't go slip-sliding into things, just for in case someone happens to spill a boxful of thumb tacks & did not retrieve them all.

((((Hugs)))) I know what that's like Gabs. Not that I've done it at home, but I did do it at the pub once. I'd only been at work for about ten minutes when I went to the cellar to get some bottles of Kaliber, tripped, clung on tight to the bottles, fell on the steps and hit my face on a metal bar which was standing at an angle in the corner. Cut my eye open on the eyebrow bone, an spent until 4 o'clock at the hospital. But, you know, they were brilliant up there and they don't give you stitches these days; they glue it back together with this kind of super glue. You can't wash it for about 5 days, and have to have it covered, but it barely leaves a scar. If you have any more problems with bleeding, you really ought to go to the hospital, although I fear it might be too late now as the blood will have gelled.
Please take more care, my dear friend. You have enough on your plate without accidents like that. I hope everything is sorting itself out now... sorry, I haven't spoken to you for a few days. Life is hectic here at the moment. Everything seems to come at once. Thanks also for your new comments in my poetry site. I appreciate them very much because I'm trying to ascertain the ones which might be interesting enough to publish... so thank you for that.
Now, look after yourself a bit more and get fit and well again, will you? Luv ya, Gabs. x

Awwwwww, sorry Gabs. This month is sooooo hectic. I have four cakes to make before the end of the month, and parties, starting next Thursday as well as my usual Wednesday night darts, but I'll get in touch shortly.
I'm fine, but there's those around me that are not, so please bear with me. After March 28th will be a good time for my trip... found out details and will be in touch as soon as I can. Take care yourself!!! :-) x

I am also one of the clumsy ones! I bump into things constantly.
I hate to hear you are in such a way. I hope it is not worse than your letting on. I also hope it heals quickly. I know I hate to have a black-eye! My daughter has had about 12. She gets it from me she is clumsy too.

Bless you heart, you sound like my son.Clumsiest child I've ever seen. He's always doing things like that, even now that he's grown up.Get some NU Skin and keep in the cabinet for your booboos. It's antiseptic and elimates the need to wear a bandage.Unless something is REALLY large and deep it should take care of it.As for the black eye,the last time I had one I used make up to make the other one match as close as possible.A nice combination of purple and brown came close.Everyone thought I was trying out a new 'punk' look.*LOL*

Wow Gabs! YOu are lucky you didn't do more damage to yourself! I never wore slippers up until a few years ago. I have a great pair of lambs wool slippers that are toasty warm. I wear my heavy socks with them for added warmth. I wear the slippers for added warmth and to protect my feet.

Oh, I wanted to add that my mother's nickname for me when growing up was "Grace", and not because I was a ballerina or anything close to it!

Oh that had to hurt. I am very clumbsy too, though mostly related to my medication. Why wouldn't you go get stiches? I think sometimes we are our own worst enemy. You have to be more careful from now on and make sure you close those cupboard doors.

Oh no no stitches lol it is doing ok on its on and yes we are I hate Doctors and Hospital. The other worry was in case they wanted to keep me in I have a little Dog and he would have been on his own and probably got scared and wondering where I was, I stayed up for a few hours after it happened and I was ok. If it would have bled more then an hour then I would have gone but it stopped after 15 minutes.

Doh gabs .. what are you like .. !
Now seriously .. is the cut big enough to have needed a stitch .. we don't want you being scarred for life do we .. if you can't or won't go to the hospital or a docs .. at least try and stick a few thin strips of plaster across the eye to hold it perfectly in place .. that will minimalise what scarring you get .. Steri strips are the best as they peel off nice and easily ..

You are very lucky that you did not do more damage with it being so close to your eye. Wearing socks and a slippy linoleum floor is how I broke my back in two places. Now I have four 4 pairs of warm socks with with wee rubber things on the bottom so I don't slip again.

ok Gabs I see what you meant about doing something silly! Hope you are feeling ok - would nag you about getting it checked out but I know there would be no point - I know when someone is to stubborn to go to the dr! Seriously I know you have had enough of doctors and things but please promise to go IF it gives you any problems at all? Know what you mean about being clumsy - it seems to have passed on to my kids from me but my youngest could trip over fresh air! Let us know you are ok or I will start to worry! ps It went very well - I was so proud of my son he looked and acted so grown up - not always what you expect of a 13 year old boy! xx

Yes I promise you that but I think the cream is helping it. I am going to bed in a bit as I am very tired but going to take the little Fellow out first. I am glad it went well and that your Son behaved well to. I know it is upsetting and you certainly do not want the Kids behaving so I am glad he did. do not worry I will be fine I promise you that xxx

I'm sorry I was not around to console you immediately.
I'm glad that you are on the mend and can understand why you
did not want to the hospital. Gissi will left alone.
He is a good man to keep you company.
The antiseptic cream keeps bacterial infection away and let the tissues get on with the healing job. You are doing it right.

Oh you poor thing! I hope it is feeling a little better now. Faces and heads tend to bleed a lot and look a lot worse than they really are. I hope you take things easy for a few days. (Don't worry I am always wearing my socks as slippers and one day I'll be going for a spill too I think)

Gabs, what are we going to do with you? I'm so sorry you hurt yourself like that! That is one of the problems of living alone. It could have been much worse, so I'm sure we are all thankful you still have an eye, you are still able to work on myLot and there is no permanent damage.
What did Gissi do? She must have been upset.
Please, please, please be careful!

It is a good suggestion. I would not do those 2 things & heed to your advice. However, keep on applying the antiseptic cream till the wound heals.
