Hi deepak, Nice discussion though an year old.....
I think it is much better if a person grows with inferiority complex rather than being under the wrong impression of superiority complex because a person who has superiority complex is actually never superior. He is only over-confident and proud and not liked by people in general. I agree with black magician, such people should be put to their right place by proving ourselves right and better than them. From my childhood I had inferiority complex and that always kept my behaviour humble and loving to all which in turn proved beneficial for me as everybody likes me as I am........so I am happy with my inferiority complex, don't want to fall into company of unlucky superiority complex. Have a great day........

I just cannot stop laughing........it is the beauty of mylot that once a member respond to even a older discussion, it becomes alive once again. I had completely forgotten about this discussion, before I saw a response to it, this morning........and here you are.....with your interesting but logical thoughts........
Coming back to you reply, Yes, I more or less agree with you that if at all one has to nurse a complex, it would be better to go for inferiority complex. Feeling less than others, would make you feel humble and polite. The idle situation would be if one could stand in-between, he should neither has a inferiority complex nor superiority complex. People showing superiority complex are not liked by many of us.
Many thanks for sharing your wonderful thoughts.

I like this discussion!
One of my inlaws has superiority complex and I really am having hard time dealing with her. I have tried to avoid her and even not dealing with her has been a problem cause she keeps on bugging me. So what I am doing now was I tried to show to her what I am and if she insist of having a conversation I do talk to her but once I noticed that she'll try to show her superiority then was my sign to say, "Oops I forgot I need to do something" LOL.

So you are wise enough to have found out the way how to deal with your in-laws, who show 'superiority complex' in their behaviour. Good! As long as you can pull along with your formula.
Many thanks for joining sharing your wonderful thoughts.

There is a theory that says that superiority complex is just a defense mechanism of feeling inferior. They tend to look good for others so that others may not see his true weaknesses. And many are saying that these people has more issues in his life than any person that has no superiority complex. So next time you meet one that has this characteristics just think of him/her that she is as good as you are hiding in his/her mask to cover something.

I have encountered several people with such strong personalities. Sometimes, I get intimidated with them. But my strategy is just to listen to what they want to say. I don't bother to spend more time with them. I'll just hang out with my friends instead.

Hey there, I have dealt with them most times in my life. My uncle say you have to assert a certain amout of authority on them if you are dealing with them on a professional basis. If it's your fren, than you must somehow make him realize that he is being such a jerk. These kind of people is the kind of people that I hat eto deal with because they always think that they are better than what they really are.

Until they came down from that complex, they won't hear any words. It is better to make them more superior until they burst and beg for our advise.

Avoid them like the plague.
Not get into discussions with them on any topics other than the topic they prefer. You have to learn to deal with their egos dear, especially if the person at the other end is your boss. Learn to inflate his/her ego.
