switching from breast feeding to bottle feeding

im having a hard time trying to get my almost 9 month old son to switch from the breast to the bottle

ususally it is one problem for the baby to switch from breasfeeding to cup or bottle, my wife got the same trouble before on our kids , and the counsellor from the health center gave advice to use some pacifier and while sleeping giving milk on bottle wrap on my wifes bra ,not washed, to keep the mothers smell on it ,that clothes she wore on that day will put on the side of the baby while sleeping, on the first time i laughed at her and i ask if its effective ,,, and in a week its done,,,, i dont even know if it has any scientific explanation, but they said it is an old simple way that passed tru generation
