My husband snores SOOOOOOOO badly that it's not even funny. I want to smother him with the freaking pillow. lol I can't get to sleep when it sounds like the walls are coming down on me...and he just can't stop snoring. He even snores when he's lying on his stomach. He's tried those strips that you put on the nose~they didn't work... I just don't know what else to do...except sleep on the couch!! And that can't be good on a marriage, lol. Please if you know of anything that works, tell me!! I NEED sleep! Thanks! Have a great day!

Hi Steph. My husband snores real loud too sometimes. He has had his nose broke three times is what causes his. There is no cure for it that I know of. On the other hand though, his sister also snores and stops breathing in her sleep so the doctor gave her a nose bridge that opens up her nasal passage so she can sleep without snoring and not stop breathing. Your husband may want to go see his doctor and see what the doctor can prescribe to reduce his snoring. They say that people who snore, really do not rest well either. I have also had to sleep on the couch sometimes because my husband falls asleep usually before I do and he starts snoring also. He snores whether he sleeps onhis back, stomach or side.

Hi Steph!! Mine is going to get his nose broke if he don't figure out some way to take it down a few notches, lol...just kiddin'! I've tried those things that go on his nose, that's a joke...He's also tried that new mouthwash that they have, or gargle stuff, and it didn't work either. :-( He has to go to doctor soon or I'm going to die from exhaustion! LOl Thanks for the response!

if i was you, go and see a doctor if it is that loud, as something wrong with his breathing. other than that, i would wear ear plugs if i was you.

My best friends husband snores really bad he went to an Ear Nose and Throat doctor he said it is because his tonsils have grown and are interferring with his breathing. A simple procedures to have them removed and ta da no more snoring. or perhaps you could try those nose things that open up the passage Good luck!

Everyone has given you the same advice. It is definitely something to consider. Why not try sleeping in seperate bedrooms? Get a foldout couch? It is definitely a cheaper alternative to any surgery. Your husband might not want anything done about it! If he is unwilling to go for any procedure then he can sit up when he sleeps or take the second room/fold out couch option.

I think your husband, bless him may have sinus problems or something similar, when my sinus are playing up or my asthma is bad I snore terribly and Shrek goes spare, I've even woken myself up, lol. I have a steroid spray that goes up my nose and keeps my sinuses fron swelling and this seems to help with the snoring too. Some poeople snore because the muscles in their throat relax too much and it is difficult for them to breath preoperly, I would take him to the Drs and make sure he's ok.

yes, i have the same problem with my husband.. its so bad i end up in the spare room many times. the thing that bugs me the most is the fact that I have to leave my nice warm snuggly perfect bed! He wont leave once in awhile. I would really appreciate not having my sleep interupted, and be able to stay in MY bed for a full night. I guess i could spend alot of money and upgrade the spare room mattress and put some really soft nice bedding in there, but then i would feel as if it were MY room, and we would not ever sleep in the same room again!

I agree with you, it's not funny. I am sure you can hear my husband snoring from all the way across the Atlantic ocean. I tried ear plugs but I could still hear him and my ears got soar. As a last resort I had to move into another room. He sleeps at one end of the house and I sleep at the other end. Bingo! We both get a great nights sleep.

I have major sleep issues and my hubby and i sleep apart...we snuggle on the couch while we are watching tv and he wakes up at 6:30 and we lay in bed til 7:10 or so... i just can't get a good nights sleep with him... maybe your hubby should go to a sleep lab...maybe he has sleep issues too (i also have a stuffy nose/snore but i have a cpap machine - he might want to look into that) good luck!

I know how you feel! Many sleepless nights and or sleeping alone LOL The nose strips worked for short periods of time, but he often forgot to put one on before he went to sleep. Now that my husband has lost 40 pounds, his snoring is almost non-existent. Maybe losing some weight might help or you can suggest he see your family doctor and ask whether there are some other type of treatments that could help. Good Luck.!

aww I feel for you. My husband snores really badly aswell - but thankfully when he is lying on his stomach he usually stops. It gets a lot worse if he has a blocked up nose though. I always make sure he blows his nose really really well before settling down to sleep. I really hope you find a solution - have you tried nasal drops?

If he is overweight, has high cholesterol and has a couple of drinks before sleep; you need to make him exercise daily. With 6 months of exercise in the gym and low fat diet , my snoring has vanished. Now I am once again able to have a drink and not snore.

My wife have been complaining all mornings that she did not have good sleeps. She told me that I was snoring loud and I believe I should look for treatment to eliminate the snoring. If I do that I believe my wife will sleep soundly. I am overweight so I think I need to do exercises and play some sports.

Well truely this thing is so annoying! i live with my room mates, sometimes my room mates parents visit him. And his father snores so badly that I have never heard anybody snoring that badly. Whenever he visits I am sure that I shall have a sleep less night! Well I dont think there is any solution to this problem, but i have observed that when people sleep by turning on one side the sound of snoring is a bit subdued!

If anyone that you know has a problem with snoring and remains tried even after sleeping should visit their doctor right away. I went to my doctor, who recommended that I have a sleep study done. My problem is that I had Sleep Apnia. I couldn't get into a deep REM (rapid eye movement) sleep because I stopped breathing about every four minutes. I wasn't getting the sound sleep that I needed because my brain was busy waking me up so that I would start breathing again! I now use a machine that blows air into my nose to which allows me to breath consistantly throughout the night.
