Ever think of making a bin just for bottles and donating to a local charity? usually they will pick them up too!

We turn them in after we have built them up a bit. My mother-in-law gives her cans to us after a while. We usually get enough to put gas in 1 of our cars for 1 week.

Here in Minnesota we don't have a refundable deposit. But let me say the highways are strewn with pop bottles and cans. All sorts. I wished they'd get the fee here also. The main reason that sarted was to see if it helped clean up the cities and it does work. Anyhow another suggestion is if you have children send them to his school office. The schools here will take them & use the cash for school criteria just like the box-tops,can tabs, and milk bottle tops. That's it for now.
Happy postings from Grandpa Bob

Yes Grandpa Bob it does cut down on litter very much so. That's one thing I like about it. Yes I also have 3 bins 1 for trash 1 for refundable bottles and one for glass and plastic recycables. i'm thinking about getting another one just for cardboard as we have to pay when we take our trash to the dump. We don't have garbage trucks that pick up around here. Thanks!

It is a long time since we had a deposit on bottles here in Ireland and we never had a deposit on cans. Now, most stuff comes in plastic bottles and I put these in the recycling bin along with the cans. I take the glass bottles and jars to the bottle bank.
