What difference should any of thes things make in realtionships, it would surely be very boring if we all looked and acted the same would it not? Shouldn't the whole world just forget these prejudices ? I think we should all be a lote more accepting of other cultures and give some respect.

as for friends I don't care what colour nationality or religion you are. I actually have such a plethora of different friends that I pride myself on it. My friends are like a wonderful rainbow of differences and I learn for each and every one of them! When it comes to a life partner/spouse however, colour and nationality don't matter once again, but religion to me does. They can be a different religion but they MUST be accepting of mine. Especially when you are going to have children. It is just to hard I think to raise children in a household where two parents have very different religious views!

"They can be a different religion but they MUST be accepting of mine."
You make a really good point here. My husband and I are of different religions, but we both respect each other's beliefs, and we plan to teach our son many beliefs and let him choose what works for him.
I've had relationships in the past with people who didn't respect my religious beliefs, and it just never worked out. I won't accept anyone trying to convert me, or trying to tell me that what I believe is wrong.

Thanks kyttiewitch! I do agree that it doesn't matter about any of these things as long as there is respect! I have faith and my partner doesn't but both our children do! It isn't a problem for us as we respect each others point of view and my partner does sometimes go to church with us just because he wants to show the children he respects their views and beliefs.
Lecanis your little one has the best of parents and I am sure he will grow up to be a very respectful, tolerant and accepting person! Kudos! xxx

Hi, I agree with you :)
We should understand about different cultures and people and respect each other. The color, nations and tribes are only to identify each other.
But when one goes into a relationship, make sure that their cultures and belief do not clash each other, or do not make any problem in their life.

I do love to learn about other peoples cultures and beliefs - I find it is very interesting and shouldn't be a barrier to friendships!
I do know people from totally different backgrounds and cultures who have fantastic relationships - they just have to learn to respect the others beliefs and be able to compromise! xxxx

I understand exactly what you meant sweety and you are right - it is always better to enter a situation knowing what the possible problems may be - forewarned is forearmed and you have more of a chance of overcoming those problems than if you didn't think about it first! xxx

sure mummymo!,
There are many great relationships even international!
Some of our natives has Japanese and Filipino wives. and Some Indian girls are married to US or UK guys!
I just said it as a caution, it is better to understand anything wrong that may happen due to their cultural differences, that's all.
Happy postings!
Have a nice day!

It would have been a better thing if it were tolerated, but the truth is, intolerance is ripe among mankind, that is why muslims and christians, black and white, disabled and able bodied all these difference often generate intolerance instead og the most upright thing to do, tolerance and celebration of diveristy.

I absolutely agree with you. One of the things I can´t tolerate is racism.
We can learn so much from different cultures and having relationships with people of different races brings variety into our lifes.
I agree with other people who´ve given a response here: life would be a much better and more peaceful place if more people thought like us.
A big plus from me for an excellent discussion topic.

i agree with you completely.i also believe you are a kind man according to your thought.
i guess when the God created the hunman being,he made many kinds of people in order to make each kind of people can stand out at some fields,so that hunman being can be good at everything when these kinds of hunman being unite.
so ,i think the God hope that people can learn to help each other, repect each other, and unite as a big family.
yes, i think people should be friendly with each other.

No i dont think in this ever shrinking world there is place for many educated ppl to think about this. Some ppl may use such words for personal interest but the result will not sustain long. Nationality matters sometimes but color and religion are absolutely of no concern.being a human it does not matter how u look where are u from what u do. What matters is how u think n how open minded are u to accept things going around.

Actually, tolerance is about the only thing I require of friends or romantic partners. I don't care about race, color, religion, any of that stuff. As long as they are tolerant of others on those matters as well, we're fine.
I do think it would be very boring if we were all the same, and some of my most rewarding friendships have been with people very different from myself. Not to mention the fact that I'm married to someone of another religion, and that's neat too. It means my child will get a chance to learn about many beliefs, and it also means we celebrate many holidays! =p

Good for you sweety! I am of the opinion that religious and cultural beliefs should be taught at home and church - school should be a place where everyone can learn about different beliefs, religions and cultures - maybe if this were to happen more people would be tolerant and respectful to the rest of the world! xxx
