Driving with Loud Music

I'm so used to driving with loud music on the background but laws are now being passed banning such practice. The rational being, is that you'll not be able to hear whether or not others are honking at you and/or your attention will be diverted away from concentrating on the road. I understand such reasoning but should laws be really that strict?

I have loud music in my truck also, but I am very alert of my surroundings while i'm driving.(constantly lookin for the law..lol)I think it shouldn't matter if you are driving on the highway where there are no residential housings or on the interstate. But it is dangerous for those driving emergency vehicles. They assume you can hear them, when you really can't. Think about it.

I have always driven with loud music when I am alone. My husband and I have had the discussion many times as to why I should turn it down some, but I don't. I think the government has way bigger things to worry about than how loud we listen to our music in the car. I have never been in an accident and have ever only had one speeding ticket. I would be very upset if they started telling me how loud I could listen to the radio. Just my opinion

I like doing it too but, when you dirve in a residential zone or near an apartment complex, turn the music off! You have no idea how annoying this is! Especially when it's early in the morining and you are just trying to sleep a little more until you have to work or go to school. I just hate it when people do that. So yeah, I'm cool with the cops catchin ya if yer doing it where people are trying to sleep! Otherwise, it's just fine... you should be paying attention to the road at all times anyway. And, if it is because the driver can't hear... that's BS! What about def people? They can drive and nobody says anything about them. Just, you can't tell the judge "I was playing loud music." I don't think he'll let you away with that one...
