cinnamon for diabetics

I've heard cinnamon helps to regulate blood sugar levels in diabetics. How does this work and is anyone using this method for prevention of medication? How are you doing with it?

I think that cinnamon is supposed to help glucose processing at the cellular level. But part of me also thinks that the cinnamon might cut the cravings for sugar and make it easier for people to stay with the diabetic diet. When they can do that more easily then the medications they must take are more effective. I don't htink that anyone who is at the point of taking daily insulin shots would be helped by cinnamon though.

I wondered how it worked. I've heard people using cinnamon for their diabetic horses,too. I didn't know horses could have diabetes. Go figure!
