Navigator System - error

We have a RX-300 2001 model .. and our navigator crashed couple months ago... its reads a disc error... short of getting the car to the dealership (trying to save huge bucks) we did everything that was suggested on the internet... no luck... want to check if any one here has the same problem and maybe a solution...
