"I'm Down" - the greatest Little Richard number Little Richard never wrote?

"I'm Down", the rocking stage-built screamer off of 1965's "Help!". What do you think of it? Throwaway or forgotten gem?

are you talking of the same song? Lennon and McCartney wrote the gem in 1966 copyright by Maclen Music Inc. If this is the one, it is great Paul sells it when he sings "How can you laugh when you know I'm down."
