I have been smoking for a few years now, and recently have discovered some serious health issues which have very much scared me. I am only twenty-five, and am scared if I continue this will only get worse. I used to smoke a pack and a half a day. However, now I am down to less then a third of a pack a day. I am slowly getting there, but plan on being completely off of the cigarettes by my son's first birthday which is April 12th. Wish me Luck, and any suggestions to help would be great! Thanks friends.

Congratulations, this is the right thing to do, I wish you luck and you will be totally out of it soon :) I know it's hard on many people but you can do it if you really want to and quitting while young is much better for you and for your son's health :)

Yes I agree, I am tired of the whole process I go through just to make sure my son doesn't get any of the smoke. I always go outside and out to the road, just so it don't get it. And I change clothes before going out so the smoke gets on those and not the ones I'm wearing around him. Then when I come in I wash my arms and hands, change back into the clean clothes and go up to wash my teeth and my face. It just isn't worth it anymore. I'd rather not smoke then go through that constantly.

Sounds like you have made a great start. Just cutting down is good. I'm sure you'll make your goal since it sounds like you are determined. If you want to quit you'll do it. That is the key thing with any habit, the desire to quit. Once you have that the rest is not as hard.
