The hills have eyes remake was such a great film, that I'm hoping they don't rehash the plot and deaths and make it a stale sequel...

The trailer for this looks great...I can't wait..here is the synopisis of the movie (got this from http://www.bloody-disgusting.com a great site for horror movie news)
A team of National Guard cadets stops over at a desert outpost to deliver equipment to some military scientists. They arrive at the research camp to find it mysteriously deserted. Hearing a distress call on their walkies, they set off on what they think is a simple rescue mission into the hills - only to find a tribe of mutants, damaged by nuclear testing, who lie in wait for them...

Alot of it may come down do different writers or inexperienced writers just being given the greenlight to their scripts even though they might be bad, everyone involved gets paid!!
Such is the way of the movies industry!!
I should know, I'm more than likely going to be working there one day!!

I agree that it was an awesome film, I have not seen anything quite like it. I saw a preview for the sequel today and was a little disapointed in it. Of course it was super fast clips so you can't really see what is going on but when they did slow it down, the character looked so mutated it seemed "overdone". It is hard to find sequels that live up to the originals; in my opinion they make the sequels just to rack up more money. I'll hold final judgement for after I view the film...

Yeah cashing in on the great first films is nothing new, there's a new chainsaw massacre one out soon and that franchise is becoming stale, but I still watch them as are the halloween films what with Rob Zombie doing a halloween remake, I hold out hope that these are great updates for the horror genre.
