I am back! I have *finally* kicked this thing that's had me out of commission.
Now I'm back on track and catching up on the million of things I need to do. There's nothing like debilitating illness to get the chores built up.
Anyway, I was thinking about a response to one of my discussions where someone was griping at me for mentioning what I'd done that day, and going on about how no one cares. And I was a bit stumped, as I know I always like hearing what my friends on here have been up to. And it hit me once more the differences between Mylot users.
There are those who just don't see this as anything but a way to make money. I can't see it like that. I've met so many wonderful people here that the money is just a side thing. (Thing, wow, my mental capacities need to be revived.)
Anyway, I often wonder if this will ever change, or if there will always be this divide between users.

Glad to see you are better!
I think there will always be a division in users. I enjoy hanging around and posting, but I have to say that if there was no pay involved I wouldn't be here, mainly because I need to make money while I am online!
Oh well....
Glad to see you are up and around!

First of all, I am so glad you are feeling better. I thought of you every day. I missed your posts. Secondly, don't let these buttheads ruin your day. A lot of us care about what you did during your day...I do. I do think there will always be a divide to some degree, but the people who are here just for the money will leave eventually because the money to be made here is little and takes a while to acrue. I just wish everyone could think of the money as a nice addition to all the friends, the different cultures, different opinions and thought that we are all exposed to here.

I have missed you, wondered where you were. I hope that you are feeling all better now. Are you?
I feel there will always be a divided set of people here. Most are wanting the money, especially from poor countries. Others really do care, and always will.
Welcome back dear, have a great day. Do things slowly until you catch up, don't push yourself. Blessings, M&M

It's good to see you back :) I had wondered where you were. I know there are some nasty bugs going around and they are hard to kick. Glad to hear you have beaten yours up. Just don't send it my way ok?
As for the idiots who grip about posts I think they do that just so they can post something. They can't think of anything to say so they gripe. That way their post count goes up and they earn a couple of pennies for being mean to people. You'd think they could find better things to do huh?

Yay! I'm so happy you're back! And I love reading what you did that day, as well as what all my other friends did. =p
I get pretty stumped by this attitude too. I can't imagine spending a lot of time on here posting without beginning to feel something for my fellow users. I love getting money for posting on a forum, but I love the community as well, and I've often posted on forums that didn't pay just to experience community.
As much as I hate to say so, I think the divide will always exist. Anytime there is money involved, you'll have people there solely to make money. Moreover, you'll have people who are rude to people who think differently, whatever the issue.

No matter what happens you are going to have the members whoonly want the money and dont really care about the other members. Then you have the members like you and me who care about the other members and consider the money a bonus. It sux that it is this way but that is what hapens with progams like this one.

You poor thing! Good to see you back though and that you kicked that flu. My boyfriend has one right now and is miserable so I can only imagine.
It seems that those here for only money don't even bother to really enjoy the site. There can be much to enjoy with the people who are on here and the different discussions that are really discussions.... Instead they complain because you talk about your day and poop all over the discussion as if *you* are supposed to go along with their way of thinking and create discussions for the purpose of one sentence answers for them to make points.
It is sad.

I missed you hell a lot, as you know you are the best guider of me here in my Lot! I hope that you are fine now. Are you? What happened with you :(? I know you are the best here in my Lot you don't need to mentioned it. I don't give a damn to one's who blame you or who think you are not fair with my Lot members. Have you ever heard this saying? 'When you have someone near you, you won't feel his/her importance and when someone is gone you miss him/her so much like you never did to anyone' this is the same thing I want to apply here for the one who said you, you don't care and what you had done that day. I know only one thing that you're the best! Moreover, we all love you! Have a very good day! Happy earnings!

Hey Welcome back, glad to hear you are feeling better. I had been missing your posts and wondering what had become of you.
I understand what you are saying as last week I jumped into a religious debate, (it was even tagged debate) and then pounded by the author of the post for disagreeing and stating I found his generalizations offending. I had quite a good time knowing I was getting under his skin. I enjoy the banter back and forth here in mylot but I have quickly found there are those that just want the post with no intent on conversation.

Welcome home hon. I'm so glad you are feeling better. I was wondering what had happened to you. I've missed your wonderfully witty rants and ravings (LOL). I've gotten a few of those replies myself. It's as if they are only out for themselves and no one else. And as far as I'm concerned, those people need to go elsewhere. Like you, I've met many wonderful new friends, and I wouldn't trade it for the world. But somehow, I don't think things will ever change, and we will always be the caring against the uncaring. Glad you're back among us hon. Take care.

Glad to hear you are feeling better, I missed you as I am sure many have. I have not been around much over the past week either as I got a bit fed up with some of the replies and discussions.
Personally I think there will always be the divider as long as there is money involved. Some people just can't get past the dollar sign and get to the human aspect of community. Sad but true.
Anyway welcome back!

I like hearing about everyones' day. I may not always post a response to reading about their day though. By the way, I was wondering if you would consider me for a friend? I always enjoy your posts and your wit and I would like to be on your list of friends. Thanks!

anyway, i think factions here in mylot will always be present i can still see lots of users who are after for money and nothing more plus the fact that this site is a money making community.

Hiya Misskatonic, Welcome back. I am glad you are feeling better, I wondered where you had gone and why I had not seen and of your interesting discussions around lately. I do not often reply to them but I always read what you have to say and you are a valued member of Mylot.
I consider the money we earn at Mylot as just a bonus we get whilst interacting with the interesting people here, but there are certainly alot of members who do not see it that way and you are very right that there is a great divide between us and them. I imagine that Mylot may always be this was because of the nature of people and money.
Anyway, good to have you back, Tanika.

Welcome back! (ditto for me, I was on hiatus.) You neglected to mention one group of mylot users. That is those of us who are actually, simply here for the wisdom/learning aspect, that is, neither the money--which is piddly, nor the friends aspect--which happens to be a good side effect/potential, but is not my reason for being here--I'm here for the potential wisdom, ideas, chances to share my thoughts, to read the thoughts of other for psychological and personal curiosity-based reasons. Anyway, it's good to know I'll be able to read your postings again. You are one of the few, the individual, the outspoken, and the interesting. I look forward to more of your thoughts.
peace,
David A. Reedy...

Glad you are better. I wondered why I had not seen any thing by you in a few days.
I enjoy interacting with my friends and have many. I know things about peoples life's and I feel closer to them. If mylot shut down today, there are many I would wonder about. There are so many good people here. When I first started, I did not understand how you could have 1,2,even 300 friends or more, but as I add more and more each week, I have begun to see how easy it is.
There is a whole other world out there. The other side of the tracks if you will. I don't think either is bad for mylot unless they do not follow the guidelines they are a part of the community just like we are.
I think that is what our friends list for. I tend to stick to my friends discussions unless something catches my eye and have the time it leads to more good topics and therefore a new friend.
It is indeed just like a community or a town. And I doubt it will change very much,as we are people in here that are the same as the ones out there, and it ain't happening in real life!

Hey good to hear you are ok again and welcome back. This is a lovely community of people, and while a lot of us are here solely to make money, there are loads of really good people here too who want to be involved in the discussions

well yeah, there will always be a thin line, well not exactly a thin line but a huge thick bulky line between my lot users here, of course i'm not saying i'm not here for the money, which is why i joined in the first place, but then everyone did, but now that we're here, we're of two kinds, the ones who actually discuss stuff and put some effort into it, but by effort i don't mean 'effort' because if there's something on your mind it's real easy to put it in words, and then there's the kind that care about numbers only, number of posts, number of discussions, number of responses, number of referrals and then number of dollars, so they resort to one line answers, copied discussions, negative retorts and the like.
i wonder when they'll realise that mylot like other paying sites is not just about numbers but about quality, seriously, it is, i know so because in my experience, a few days back i did nothing but comment on all of my discussions and didn't make a single response and i still made good money, but when i just respond, respond, respond like it's a race(although they are quality) i didn't do too well. Goes to show, that mylot stresses more on 'conversations' than posts, if discussions are responded to ,rated, and commented on, then they do well, if it's just oneliners, then forget it.
