Is this Possible that Discussions are not at there Best?

I wonder if very many people understand the art of discussion? With such diverse and complex issues of late, it's easier to make a short comment and 'go on to the next issue'. I have found in many discussions, again, with so many opinions and the ability to become so offended so easily, the discussions turn quickly into rash statements or uneducated remarks which have nothing to do with the discussion at hand. I was going to say sometimes they even turn into debates, but the remarks or opinions usually don't last that long to be classified as a debate. Many of the so-called discussions don't last that long either. The idea some people have is "I'm right and you are wrong". They make a comment and that's the end of that discussion. I'm not sure why. It might be fear or being hurt by what some people say, so they just move on. Who knows? I have found some discussion here and have enjoyed reading them. I've participated in a few in my short time here, but the ability to have a real discussion? I'm sure that is the idea, but somehow it has been lost in the translation. All we can do is keep trying; making our comments, starting new 'topics' and moving forward. Right?

I agree with you,,, though its not a very long time since i am here... i dont find much of an interesting discussions to respond to... its just for the sake of doing it..i think now we have only option to go for the discussions on TOP,,, specifically we find discussions with 0 responses very bad in quality

hi,friends,its absolutlety true.i used to respond 70-100 discussions before but now it is come down to 20-30.

yeah some of the disscussions on here don't make a lot of sense to me either. i usually delete the question in my email if it is something crazy.
