I got 3 hours until my boyfriend gets home and my cat and I are both bored. We usually play with a tin foil ball or a laser pen. We are bored of both. Any other ideas for a home made toy or activity??

Watch out for the foil ball. It can be deadly, if your cat tears it and gets a little down it's stomach. They like to play hide and seek. Well, one of mine do. They like to fetch a paper ball. Don't use string, it's deadly too. Take a sock, fill it with some catnip, tie it up, and watch kitty go for that.

Shes having a blast with the catnip in a sock. I tied it to a string from my old coat and shes having a blast playing with or without me.

Moomin the mad mog - Moomin tired after a hard day
Moomin loves to play with carboard boxes, so I hung a couple of balls of wool on the box and put some rolled up paper inside. She will play in there for hours.

Well I know my cats love to play with the lids off water bottles, milk jugs, and the like. They almost play hockey with it :) They also like the cardboard roll that is inside toilet paper. They love to play with that. Anything that will move they will play with usually.

Scrunched up piece of paper, cardboard box or string with something ties onto the end.

Pull a string, or flip it around! Most of my cats can't get enough of that. Peacock feathers (like you have one at hand) are also great cat toys - don't expect to ever leave one out again if you start!

We use strings, shoe laces, a paper bag. Even a flashlight can be a easy toy to play with a cat with. Do you have a pen light? Or lasar pointer? Cats go wild over those. My cat has a piece of styrafoam that shes playing with now. When shes done ill toss it away. But she seems to be enjoying herself for now.

Balled up paper usually keeps my cats entertained for hours. Also if you have a piece of string or rope you can either dangle it or pull it across the floor for your cat to chase. Paper bags, if you have any, are a great way also to keep yourself and the cat entertained. Not sure why cats like them so much, but I have found that all the cats that I have owned in my lifetime when I place a paper bag on the floor they played for hours in it.
