When you're on a diet and/or exercise plan, what keeps you motivated to keep going? Do you post a picture on the fridge, have a friend that you work out with, someone who holds you accountable? What is most effective at making you stick to your plan?

When I am on a diet, I would picture myself as being skinny, attractive and when I dress up I will look beautiful. Those are the things I picture in my mind when I am on diet.

Right now I'm doing WW....and I am really motivated. I think I just get to the point where I'm really unhappy with myself. I always feel so much better when I'm eating better.
Now exercise is another matter altogether....grrr..

I use a journal and I write everything even to that piece of gum I chewed down in it. This helps keep me focused and it has actually been proven to help those wanting to lose wait do it and keep it off.
My other motivator is my mom. We always seem to be 'going at it again' together. We live together so it's easy to keep menus 'legal' and to be each other's motivators. She's also my walking buddy, which is one of the only ways you'll get me to exercise - if I have someone to do it with.

I will say: the competitors. I have a cousin who was as fat as me. One day i found out he lost weight alot. I started to think if he can do it, i can do so.
The second will be Health. I realize health and obesity isnot on the same boat. You have to choose one of them. So i prefer health. So far i just lost 8 pounds. My target is 40 pounds. Still long way to go
