Indonesia has been battered by natural disasters one after another. Following the tsunami, we have floods, earthquake and etc that have agonised the citizens. I do not understand why the impact has been bad of late? Just yesterday another earthquake hit Indonesia again in Sumatera. Killing a score of people. Half an hour ago, a passenger jet Garuda explodes upon landing killing a score of people again in Yogyakarta. I am really sad that this is happening to our Indonesian neighbours. Why is it that Indonesia has to suffer a plenty?

I am sorry for all Indonesian citizens. My heartfelt sympathy and I often pray for God's mercy upon all of you there. I am from Malaysia and here the tsunami also attacked us when the tragedi of 2004 happened in Indonesia. Just one month ago, Johor's map disappeared from Malaysia's map. Now it is healing but hundred thousands of people still suffering from the flood.
Yes. Yesterday an earthquake happened in Sumatera. In Malaysia we are also affected. Many areas in Kuala Lumpur, Johor, Putrajaya and Malacca can feel the shake. Tall buildings shaked terribly here because the distance is not very far from the actual site, only 400 km.
I pray to God, please forgive us for what we had done. We are humans, so we tend to make mistakes. Some of the mistakes we do not even realise it.
So hang on there, my friend. Every thing that happens, has a morale behind it. Just keep your faith to what you are and what you do now. God bless you.

I felt for Indonesia and all Indonesian member in this myLOT. It's terrible feeling to hear your neighbours suffering from one disaster after another. Still one incident yet to be recovered from the trauma, another hits them again. If we have to think thoroughly, Mother Nature is angry. Plus Indonesia geographical position is prone for her to have these unwanted natural disaster. If we can reflect back, and have a moment of deep thought, perhaps we can see that too much sins we had made that GOD is punishing us through all the disaster. To all Indonesian, my prayer is with you all.

Thanks for the condolences. I'm Indonesian and glad that you have thought with us for this unfortunate incidents. We can't stop the mother nature incidents that have devastated my country and killing the numbers of people. Well we also cannot do anything to stop these from happening. You know that Indonesian islands lie in the volcanic rim, Indonesia will suffer many earthquakes because the plates below the earth moved around. It is unfortunate that my country have lost its people due to the mother nature incidents, I just feel sorry for its loss.

The geological positioning of your country is similar to mine where we are prone to several natural calamities like volcanic eruptions, storms, earthquakes etc. unlike some other places that get a very small share of this natural disasters. We just have to learn how to live with them and devise new ways to protect ourselves. Plane crashes happen too in other countries and it is not unique to one country.

i come from indonesia too, just like i say with my discussion couple month a goo, we cant change the nature disaster, we only can do best thing to minimize all bad happen. about airplane and ship crash this risk if we human contact with OLD technology what can we say if we inside the cabin OLD air plane? or OLD ship? well this only air plane or ship company policy with bad goverment watch, no good control about transportation in indonesia. perhaps in the future will be better.

Thank you for your response. Yes, I believe human errors can be prevented if government controls are being put into force to ensure that safety is top priority instead of just making money. :

It is very sad that the indonesian region is affected by frequent earthquakes.this region falls in seismic zone 5.seismic zones 5 are the most frequently affected by earthquakes, something similar to the japanese region.
the sadest part of these events is that innocent civilians get killed.i hope that technology finds something that predicts earthquakes so that scores of people are saved.
