Everybody wants what the others have and don't appreciate what they have already. You're skiny, I'm not, I want to lose weight, you want to gain and there's no best position. It's not healthy either positions - of being fat or skiny. You need to gain the ideal weight for you that suits you. Don't ever care for what others think, trust yourself and your desires. Now how to gain weight - look around the Net for a diet that GAINS weight. Or better yet ask your personal doctor. He/she knows best.

I think sometimes people aren't just contented with what they have. You know we have a different situation, I am chubby and I want to be skinny, no matter what I do, even if I eat less, things just won't change and I'm still fat.

i guess you're right that we just have to be contented of what we have. that's what we deserve and need to accept the fact that its for the best.

The fact is that there is such a thing as the right weight. Some people just do not have the bones to carry excess weight, and if they do, it can create problems for them.
The ideal weight is where you feel healthy, can move freely, and don't get tired easily. To put on weight and remain healthy you need protein, and exercise. You really will feel the difference, after you put on the first stone.
****Do not, ever, overdo it. You're used to a certain weight, and need to develop the muscles to handle more. If you have a look at overweight people, you'll see that just moving is a basic problem. For women, excess weight can be a real problem, adding to anything else that's happening. You need to find the right balance between fitness and weight to gain weight and enjoy it.

Well, from your photo you look "ok" to me and allot of people will kill to have body like yours. I also used to be skinny 3 years ago ( about 43kg ) but now I gaining 13 kg . Trust me that when I say it is bad Idea to gain weight as it is very unhealthy for "fats" accumulating in the body. The time when I am thin I desperately want to gain more weight and it is the worst mistake that I make in my life.
Anyway if you want to gain weight then do it healthily. Go for Ice cream as it is the best way to gain weight , do not eat food that have allot cholesterol because it is unhealthy. Accumulative Cholesterol can increase your blood pressure and worst you might get blood clot and have heart attack .

Ah you have the exact same thing as me. Its a gene disorder called: the cheeseburger. It has no bad side effects it just makes us stay skinny! Oh also your friends are right you'l be much happier thin then fat because you cheeseburger eating happits will remain if you become normal. And then you'l be really fat. So be happy about your genes!
Hope this helps (-:

er... would you like some of my fats? lol! i think metabolism plays a role in this ... or may be it's your bone structure ... or it could be something else. i have friends who used to be really skinny, but after giving birth to their first-born, they practically ballooned!

i think you're right. maybe my metabolism or bone structure are possibly the reasons why im skinny. some would really say that i will only gain weight after giving birth. maybe, i'll just wait for that right time...for now, i just have to be contented and eat healthy foods. if i'll gain weight, then thats good. if not, it's okay.

I used to be too skinny, too, and don't seem to gain weight even if I eat and eat. But somehow, I found out that exercise could help. Yes, exercise. Exercise is not only for losing weight. It can also help a person gain weight. I don't know exactly how so I can't tell you. But a little exercise sure helped me to gain a little weight. Maybe it'll work for you, too.

I'm like you. Even after 6 children I'm really small. I do have curves but just on a small scale. Exercise will increase your muscle mass and muscle weighs more than fat so you'll see the numbers on the scale go up. Eating more, healthy calories might help some too. The thing is, you can't fight your genes. If you were meant to be small, there's not a lot you can do to change that. I know many people will say to be happy you don't have to deal with all the health problems associated with being overweight but there are problems with being thin as well. We're at greater risk for osteoarthritis, chronic fatigue syndrome, anemia. We can have fertility problems, trouble fighting off and recovering from illness. We have to be extra careful to stay warm in cold weather and hydrated in hot weather. Then there are the problems finding nice clothes to wear that aren't from the little girls section.
I hope you can find something that works to help you get to a healthy weight. Nothing has worked for me yet but I keep trying!

I know exactly how you feel. I was skinny all my life and tried everything under the sun to gain weight. I had five children and as soon as each one was born I was back down to my same old 99 pounds. Everyone said that I should be happy that I was thin but I didn't feel thin just plain skinny. I hated wearing size 0's and 2's. my friends didn't realize that it was just as hard for some to gain wait as it is for others to lose weight. About 2 years ago when I was 64 I just started gaining some weight. I now weigh 116 and am very happy with my weight. I guess my body chemistry just changed with age.
One thing that I did that helped some was to drink a food supplement like Ensure (Walmart has one called equal which is almost like Ensure and half the price) with my meals, in between meals and as a bed time snack.

I know how you feel. People would always come to me and say you need to gain some more weight. I'm pretty tall so that is why I look more skinny. I tried drinking all those protein shakes and eating more but that didnt really help. You know what made me gain more weight? Having a baby. haha, now I got some more meat on my bones but not all in the right places^^

We have similar problem, I want to gain weight. I want to add more pounds to my existing weight. I really a lot, but the problem with me is, I don't eat on the right time. Maybe, that's the reason why I weigh like this. Some of my friends told me to eat ice cream or those with heavy and more calories after a single meal. Some of them also advice me to take a chinese medicine named Linzhi which, as they say, is very effective. It makes you sleepy and hungry all the time.True enough but the problem is, that medicine is very expensive.

From your photo, it appears that you are not so as you are thinking. May be this due to state of mind or someone had said you about your weight. It is good for girls that weight is not increasing. You should not give much weightage to less weight. After an age it will start increasing then you will not able to control it.

I hear you. I have always been skinny, too. In grade school, teachers would always ask me if I was feeling okay, because I looked so frail (and I'm really pale complexion, too). I'm in a pretty active line of work, which helped build up my arms and legs nicely so they have some shape to them now.
Things like weight training will help build up your muscles and make you "bulkier" in the right places while you still remain healthy. Also, dressing to accentuate the positives of your body will help, too. Wearing loose things to hide your thinness actually makes you look even smaller, like you can't find clothes to fit.
Good Luck.

Don't despair clarah_cille. judging from your picture, i don't think you are too skinny. There are lots of women out there who would do anything to be skinny like you. Before you change your diet, check your body mass index first. However, it is advisable to eat breakfast regularly. It's the one meal i've been taught not to forget.
