most of the time, i am having hard time buying stuffs for my family. i often get confused if i should choose quality for quantity buying. i budget my money tightly because you never know what emergencies can happen and i do not want to get caught in a situation in which i get short of cash. however, at times i regret buying low quality product because its not as durable in the first place or sometimes it not performing well as i expect an eqipment to help me get my job done easily. well what is your opinion about this?

it depends on the thing that im going to buy or purchase, if im going to purchase food, of course i would go for the quality, but if i would buy an ordinary clothes, i would go for quantity.

makes alot of sense. thanks... i do that too. i am not really used to buying expensive or branded clothes but my husband does. he's clothes usually is 5x more expensive than mine. we often argue about that issue. he spend too much on his personal things.

i think that, if u purchase something for yourself then in that case u can go for quantity and if you are going to purchase for some one else then always go for quality.

i believe in quantity. if we choose quantity instead of quality, definately i am not buying good product i.e. undurable. so we should not see the product's price whether it is expensive or cheap. quality product will last long whereas cheap product will fade immediately. so before going to market, made up your mind how much you have to invest, which type of product you have to buy and how many. if you randomly go market and start purchasing, you will loose your money.

I agree that it depends on what you're buying. We tend to go through a lot of paper towels around the house, so I buy the large pack of cheap ones. But there are times when I need a good quality one, like for washing windows or cleaning the bathroom. So I'll buy the high quality, expensive roll for that. I hide those so the guys can't waste them all! ;-)

hmmm...a tough one cos quality is a must but then not at the cost of ur wallet crying...but then again i must say that a perfect balance is a as quality couldnt be comlpetely ignored otherwise u would end up buying the same thing again n again!!!! i would suggest a balance between the two would definetly help!

First, I will look for quality. It doesn't have to be expensive, though. As you mentioned, low quality sometimes not performing well.
I remembered I bought a soap for a dishwash. It's really cheaper that the normal brand I always buy. But then, I need to wash my dishes even longer since this soap didn't really clean them and I have to use a loadsa mount before I can get it clean. A bottle last less than a month. While, the other brand (a bit expensive)that I normally use, clean a lot better and a bottle can last more than 3 months.
And that goes almost the same for me for the equipment and some clothing. So, I'd rather buying stuff with a quality that will last longer than quantity and always comparing prices for the same stuff from different store. It will save money too.
