Could cats provide psychic healing?

I wonder...
Do cats have some kind of psychic healing capabilities?
-Ever felt a little "down", and have your cat or kitty come sit on your lap, and everything just seems to be lifted away?
-Ever felt anxious and fretful and have your cat or kitty give you 'leg-hugs' to let you know "they understand"?
-Ever have a 'tummy-ache' and have your cat or kitty come curl up right-there-where-it-hurts, and suddenly you feel much better?
Surely such capabilies can only come from the power of love.

Here in OK in the USA they have nursing home cats, that comfort the elderly and use it as sort of a medicine.

Yes...I've heard of similar programs in some other places. I think it's a great idea! Cats (as well as many other animals, I'm sure!) seem to have a special ability to 'connect' to the inner being; the part of us that governs so much of our condition and overall wellbeing.
Thanks for the feedback.

My lovely cat Moomin always seems to know when I need some comfort. She will sit beside me and purr, begging for some fuss, just to take my mind off my troubles. It does make you wonder sometimes if cats are on your wavelength, she just knows when I need her.

I have a cat and what she can usually do for me is relieve the stress from work. I just pet her for a while and it's like the stress just got stressed out and gone.

Possibly. When it comes to my last kitty, it sure seemed that way. He always seemed to know when I was in need of comfort.

im not ure about psychic healing but that is unconciously the point of pets. many use them as sarogates for other people or even children... something about innocence and unknowing of the big worlds problems can help... something said about a live being that will also listen and at least pretend to understand does wonders too. humans are too involved with too many nothings and a few everythings in life. talking to a human can be harder because we could be critisized or judged. animals do not have this ability (least that we know of but ill let you know soon as i finish my "meows on tape") and there is something definately theraputic to that.

Thanks for the comments. You're probably right, it may be pets just aren't capable of knowing how to judge or critize. That's ok with me, because it's a good lesson for me to try to attain to that level of acceptance of others.
I'm curious about your 'meows on tape', if you're for real about that.
Thx again.
