I have the worst landlord, I sware. We moved into this place last July and repairs were suppose to have been done before we moved in. They weren't. They were have having problems medically with their dad and we were understanding. Now it has been 8 mos. and stuff still ins't done. We have paid our rent on time and just want a decent place to live. We are storing part of their stuff in the garage even. The septic system is not working right and they have been aware of this since before x-mas. I had to call the health dept. on them but still nothing is done. They say they are coming over to do stuff then never show up. We are so tired of it. There are so many other things to but that would mean I would have to right a book. So I was wondering, does anyone else have these kind of problems like we do? Let's share horror stories!

I did, years ago but I went to the tenants board and had my rent summoned to them.....every month I paid my rental fees to them instead of the landlord.....it only took 4 months and they had the repairs done because everytime they came to me for the rent,I'd hand them my agents card and tell him to call her.....he didn't like this at all and I thought he was going to evict me once the repairs were done and he got his rent but he couldn't because I had my reasons for what I did documented and he had nothing....

Good for you! Always nice when a tenant prevails. Sometimes I feel like when you rent, you are automatically signing up your rights to dignity, respect and the right to privacy. I have alot of proof if needed. I took pictures and have been every month. We only have a couple of months left here so I am hoping for the best. Thanks for your input and reply.

Oh you are not alone! I was in a pinch to find an apartment before school started and on a strict budget. After looking at many horrible and tiny apartments I found the one I moved into, I wish I had taken a tiny one lol. The people who lived here before me moved out a week and a half before I was to move in and the landlord said the place would be cleaned out and all, well I came to walk through (I hadn't seen mine yet I had looked at another in the building with the same layout and all) and the place was so infested with fleas I was black from the knees down. So I was stuck with renting this place, I had no where else to go so the landlord ends up bombing the place 3 times, and I get into the apartment 3 days or so before the move to paint and they were gone. OK great right, well then we get moved in and there is like no hot water, we take a 3 min shower and it goes cold. Then the fleas come back (we had no pets at the time) so my daughter is getting eaten alive by the dang things so we have to bomb again and I have to then clean my entire house top to bottom so my kids don't get sick from that, meanwhile I still have almost no hot water. All winter I have dealt with waking up to my house being 60 degrees cause the heat don't come on sometimes, still hot water issues, my smoke detector leaks water and don't work. And to top it all off tonight I am cooking dinner and my apt gets flooded by a washer upstairs. Oh and my rent is always paid. I feel your pain!!!

I do at least have hot water. I feel for you. We only have a couple more months of hell here. Hopefully you can get your landlord to start taking responsibility. I would call the health department, especially with the heat, hot water and the flea bites. Hope you win!
