tall tale for the inspired? Noah was close to 600 years old when he got his building orders.....at that time there was, according to some authorities, over 51 million known species on the planet. So now this man, his wife, 3 sons and their wives built a boat as big as a small continent to carry all these animals, food, and everytthing to sustain this endeavor. Ask any devout person and he will tell you it happened...try the same question on an unbrainwashed child of eight and he will look at you as if you are crazy!!!People will say there was no global flood...it was impossible for so much water to rain...And the Bible tells of taking 2 pair ..the old story..but also mentions taking seven (7) pair of animals...clean and unclean..Why did I never hear that in Sunday School??
anyway..this should be interesting..

I believe most of the biblical stories including the ark are true. However they may have been changed a lot over the years.
I've read stories of people looking for the ark and have to think they would not be doing that if there was no basis to the story.

Well, I have read a few articles and the age as we know it today was not the same as back in the early days when the bible was talking about. This story of Noah is like everything in the bible. You have to take it on faith. Every person who believes in the bible will tell you it is true. That is in the story but the way I was told it was two of each animal. I have never heard that there was 7 pair of each animal.

Well..let me don my robe and put my collar on backwards....
Look in your book..or do the internet thing ...to Genesis 7:1
I think you will find it there..and like I said..it was NEVER mentioned as a child when I was in Sunday School..had to find it on my own..of course this suggested doubt in my old trusted Bible scholars of old...why didn't they know this..didnt they ever read what they preacheth??
Whew..glad that is over..these robes are warm...

Dang..am sorry start at Genesis 7:1 and read onward..the plot doth thicken...birds and fowl were to be gathered bu 7 pair as well..I think it mis-speaks itself here as well as countless other places....
But verily I say unto thee...it is 7 pair here and 2 pair there and no matter how you count them..there is gonna be a lot of poopla to deal with and that makes for a very smelly old ark...see..when I was a mere lad of about 11-12..I asked just questions as these in Sunday School...where did they all "go"...how much food was on board...how did fresh water fish adapt to salt water when put back in the ocean..??
I did not gain any popularity with my teaching elders for questions they had no answers to...same as now...no one has answers but I'm telling you now, that would have to be one Hell of a boat!!!

My dear pondadog, who has his robe on and his collar backward you have brightened my evening by your technique. Yes, I would say it would have to be a awful smelly place. I bet you did have a few scholars or professors frowning. You were questioning what you weren't supposed to. I do question things in the bible and God did not say that was a bad thing. He gave us brains to think and as far as I am conserned he knew we would use them.
