I recently rec'd in the mail a sample of Oil of Olay for mature skin, to soften and fade age spots. I love the way it makes my skin feel so far, but before I go and buy a whole container, I was wondering if any of my fellow mylot ladies could give me any recommendations. What would you recommend as something that would give me great results for the money. I get so overwhelmed at the store or even online or a catalog anymore. So many products. I just want my skin to be well moisturized and slow the aging process. I have spotty cheeks because with my illness I have facial flushing a lot and it makes me self conscious too. So please any advice at all would be greatly appreciated. I am 48 and I have never thank God ever had acne or problem skin, other than it being sensitive to a lot of products like Mary Kay.

Thank you for the information. So far I know I haven't been allergic to any of the Olay products. But they are exspensive. When I go and look at the line of Olay products available, it gets overwhelming.

The Total Effect line costs a bit more too but their basic line of moisturizers are quite reasonable. My mom buys a night cream that costs 8.99. A little tip..If you have a Wal-mart near you they sell Olay products the cheapest. CVS sells Olay for 2-3 dollars more per item. Also, do you get the Sunday paper? Every couple of weeks procter and gamble puts out a coupon booklet called "the P&G Brandsaver". It always coupons for "a dollar off any one olay moisturizer" and a "three dollars off any two olay moisturizers". My mom always uses the coupons to buy her night cream.

Thank you for sharing this with me. I love coupons and that would definitely help to defray the cost of the olay items.

I am glad you posted this discussion. I, too, am always trying to find really good products that REAL people have tried and love. I will have to keep watching this. I, too, like the Oil of Olay. I got a sample in the mail a while back and loved it, but never bought anymore for the same reasons as you.

I know I want to buy a quality product that someone can personally recommend. It would be too easy to waste a huge amount of money on something that will not be beneficial.

I got ahold of a whole case of Oil of Olay lotion in a storage unit we bought. (I think the person who let it go was stealing from the place they worked, all kinds of brand new products in there!) I tried it and I love it! It is hand lotion but I use it all over. I am set for a while now, but when I run out I don't know if I'll want to pay the price for it. I'm a cheapskate.

Wow, what a bargain!! You will be set for awhile, and well moisturized too!! Maybe I can find me a bargain like yours, we are still talking about doing the storage unit auctions.

Oil of Olay has always been a good product. Do you take meds that make you sensitive to things. If so, I would ask the pharmacist about the fading part of the lotion. It is not the most expensive thing you can buy, and it does give results. Get something with a sunscreen if your skin can handle it. Whatever you decide on, consider doing the same treatment to the back of your hands, as it helps you look younger. After this discussion, I feel like buying some Olay myself. I am older than you are.

I have been using Oil of Olay for years. I have tried more expensive brands but not of them work any better than Oil of Olay. I use also their bath and shower products.

Thanks for BR. I started just like your Mom with the bottle of pink moisturizer

I am so glad to have a response from someone who has personally used and can testify that the product does work. Thank you so much. My mother used to use Oil of Olay years and years ago, back when I think all they had was the one bottle of light pink moisturizer. At least that is all I ever saw of Olay products. And it smelled so good, just like my mom. I have tried several name brand products that have irritated my skin, but cannot remember so far any Olay products doing so. The sample I am currently using, for fading spots, it has been leaving a tingly sort of feeling, so I may be reacting to that. But I think I will buy some Olay products and use them. Thanks again :)

I been using some of the olay products for a long time now The only two that I use are olay age defying lotion and olay regenerist serum. And I like them very much, never had a problem with them.
When I go to the store There is so many olay products to choose from now, seems like they are making news ones all the time. Some are so expensive I dont buy them. I usually end up buying the same two products that i always use.
I also got a sample in the mail of olay definity intense hydrating cream, and I liked it a lot. But i never checked on the price of it yet.

I was curious about the regenerist serum, if it was worth the money or not. I too am using the sample of the definity cream/lotion and I do like it, but it is very pricey. The one I am using is also for age/color spots on the face. But the moisturizing is wonderful in this product. Thanks for sharing with me.

Olive oil works best, or vitamin E oil. And, staying out of the sun or using a sun block will help you better than anything you can buy.

I have been not using sunscreen or protecting my skin from the sun while outdoors doing my much loved yard work. But this year have decided that a tan looks great, but I am thinking of my skin now. Maybe a bottled tan would be best. Thank you so much for the advice.

While I haven't tried their latest line, 'Pro Age', I have used their 'age defying' night replenish cream for about a year and LOVE the feeling it has on my skin. It is a very light, and silky smooth substance...yet does have some oil in it..I can't describe it perfectly! I have always been very pleased with it!

Thank you for sharing this with me. I prefer to put a good moisturizer on at night, so that it will work effectively. I sweat too much in the warm weather to really do anything. But my skin is dry and needs the moisturizing. I will try this, thanks again.

I love all of the Oil of Olay products I've used but can't always afford them - check your stores, Walmart has a "store brand" that is on the shelf right next to Oil of Olay and is the same exact product just in different packaging.. almost half the price and works just as well.

From what I can tell of your picture, you have the most beautiful skin. Do you personally use the walmart brand of olay products? I can definitely tell a great difference with the sample I have been using, but I priced it today in the store and it is very pricey, even for walmart.
