We notice that many of us air our concern about global warming. Moreso now that its ill effects are highly evident. The melting of the ice caps which cause some small islands to slowly be lost to the sea, the reports on how some sheeps and cows have gone blind because of sun exposure, how exposure to noonday sun has caused some individual skin cancers, and many more.
But what have we done to do our share in stopping this condition from worsening? Time and again, authorities have asked us to plant trees and keep watch about those activities which will be harmful to the environment. It will be wise if do our share now.
I plant all sorts of fruit trees and small plants which my yard can support and I am into tree farming. I make sure that our vehicles do not belch those black smokes into the air. How about you?

Recently, scientists of the Harvard University discovered that one of the five ice-beds of the North Pole has been disintegrated drastically within past one year. This fact was never noticed until last week of November 2006. It has also been noticed that this big ice-bed is now floating on the North Sea. This floated ice-bed can now start approaching down towards the north boundary of Canada. Scientists are trying to keep an eye on the movement of this ice-bed. Satellites are helping in this regard by sending continuous pictures and data of this ice-bed. The most worried part of this incident, apart from the Global Warming, is that if by any chance this ice object reaches near to the border of Canada, it may create a great problem for the ships which are regularly traveling near the border of Canada.
There is a good article in AC. Just read that. You will understand we have something to do to prevent Global Warming.

Thank you very much for responding and thank you for referring me to a site which offers more information on this matter. I have viewed it and some articles on how big companies are the number 1 culprits for this global warming thing to reach current heights. It is just that I believe that it will be better if we will all do our share to help in alleviating this condition. The little each one does will amount to something collectively.

There are some of us who do our share to address this problem. One way, will be to instill in our friends the value of doing something for the environment. At least we will be responsible for making others realize as regards the need to do each one's share. Honestly, I believe what counts most is that we do something about it. Thanks for responding.

I also try my best to plant trees and maintain the smoke emission of my car to a safe level. We should also avoid using refrigerants that are not CFC free. Fortunately newer products are not using the old refrigerants either in refrigerators and airconditers but many older models still do. I wish the government can come up with a list of how citizens can help in combatting the green house effect in our atmosphere. Simple information dessimination of dos and donts can help us contribute something.

Thank you for responding. If every citizen of the world will do his share as you did, this will in effect slow down this global warming which has reached very alarming level as of date.

I'm not sure if this affect global warming, but we have been recyling for about 20 years now. We separate cans, bottles, plastics and paper. They come and pick them up every two weeks.
We also save our grass clipping and reuse them as mulch.
I'm sure in someway this has to contribute to lessening global warming.

Thanks for you reply. I knew recyling had to have an effect on global warming.

Yes, when we deal with our garbage that way, it helps. In fact, recycling are among the excellent things man has thought of. Mulching is very good for the plants, keep them healthy. Healthy plants take in more carbon dioxide and breathe out the oxygen we need at better levels.

I really love this discussion. Do you relize, if one person would plant a tree a year, what would happen. How about picking up garbage. I always plant a tree a year in memory of someone. My youth group adoped a road that is about 2 miles long. Every Saturday we get up early and clean up the trash off the side of the road. There are so many little things that someone could do. We do all need to pitch in and save our mother Earth. She has been very good to us and we need to return the favor.

Yes, I agree with you all the way. I have been into tree planting, too, since my school days yet. I have always participated in this exercise whenever there is a campaign for it. Planting a tree a year is really great! Notwithstanding the cleaning of the trash that your group is doing. I hope your kind will become plenty vey soon because, your lot of concerned youth will indeed make a big difference.
