This is a very good question to ask all of you. Today you see so many violent crimes commited to where one of the parents kills or harms their children and where kids kill or harm the parents. Does the old saying blood is thicker then water still stand or is it fading out?

you would think that blood is thicker than water. I have a father who was never a good Dad, but he fell on hard times, and I went to get him and I am the one paying his rent !! However, in the past, when my husband and I were first starting out, we fell on hard times when one of my son's was ill and no one would help me. My own mother drove by my house daily for work and never even stopped. One time she lent me $50 for diapers & milk and asked me to pay her back a week later !! She had the money, it's not like I was taking it from a poor woman. I had given her $200 once when she needed it, before she was remarried and never once have I asked for it in return. So I think the whole blood is thicker than water thing pertains to each person individually and their concept of right and wrong. I personally could never imagine being so vile a creature as to harm one of my own children.

I agree with you. It does depend on the person and how they see things. I would never hurt any one of my children either but, they are people that do. I would give any thing for my daughter to just be healed of her illness I would even take it from her if I could and give her my health.

Blood is still thicker than water. Parents and children should have very close relationship. The reason why there are crimes such as parents murdered by their own children is cause by the environment they live in. If the children grew up in violent environment, even if he doesn't want to kill her parents, he is doing it accidentally.

Blood is thicker than water.People should tech children to respect each other,to lova and care for others.Violeence has existed before and exists even now.Look at the Bible"Cain killed his brother Abel".The violence has increased to a certain extent with the influnce of media.
But what matters most is learning to respect each other. So blood is thicker than water even today.
