I am looking to get a medium/high end computer set up... what do you think?

Wow,you have really a good configuration.gigabits products are good.And mid tower cabinet is great.It will be more great if you have 4gb ram.But all over your pc deserve 8 star rating.:)

Ok, not bad, my score is 8.
According to me I think ASUS motherboard is better than Giagabyte.
Then, I suggest to you to choose 800 Mhz RAM memory than 667 beacause the cost is quite equal and 800 Mhz are faster.
You can choose a bigger hard disk like a 320 GB for a few money more and last I would choose Pioneer DVD burner instead ASUS.
