most of the time motorcycle accidents happen due to careless rider or due to some jerk in a 4 wheeler or a truck running down a motorcyclist. its always better as precautionary measure to ride with full riding gear and respect the traffic rules and be alert all the time.

It's a thrill you wouldn't believe to ride on the back of a bike. IF you are a safe driver or on with a safe driver, and pay attention it's great. You can reck in a car, a train, a bus and a plane also, even be run over walking down the road. Really there is no difference.

I used to ride a motorcycle when I was younger. My parents did not know that I was riding a motorcycle. They thought it was too dangerous. My wife and I would like to get a big motorcycle and go cruising. But it is not as important now as it was when I was in my twenties.

I would never go on a motorbike, my mum told me she used to have a moped, I know its not the same, but she slid on some ice while riding and behind her was a bus and she was about three inches from being run over when the bus managed to stop. They are too scary for me.

hi silverlou. indeed most road accidents is caused by motorcycles too. since it was small, the higher chance of getting injured is with you since other vehicles on the road is bigger. good thing, we have teh same fear so the accident chances here is far away from us.

you are wrong abou tmost accidents being caused by motorcyces, look at statistics, motorcycles are usually the innocent victim of the jerks in cars not paying attention.

It is all in the driver. I grew up around them so they are a part of my life. The biggest thing is that you must respect the road and not do stupid things. I will drive down the road and watch people and sit their and pray for them because they are doing something stupid. When we go out on the bike it is for a relaxing ride through the country. There is so much traffic building up and with gas so high people aren't really thinking about the experience they need to beable to handle a bike and the consquences if they don't know how to react because they were only half paying attention to the road.

My husband has a bike. Years back it never bothered me to hop on and go wherever. Now, the last three or four years I'm scared to ride on it anymore and I definately won't ride on it at nighttime because I feel so vulnerable.

Motorbikes are not secure. Thats what I don't like in motorbikes. It's something with 2 wheels that should have 4.

I love riding motorbikes! From where are you? In my city, Dumaguete there are lots of motorbikes. We even have one in our house but I don't drive it because I don't know how. I started driving the manobela when I was 10. My cousin who big already controlled the foot brakes and the gearing. That's all I know. I have drived once but then I got bruised and also wounds. Since then I never attempted to drive. But I backride very often. It's nice to ride in a motorbike just for fun but when it's your mode of transportation it's not all good since you get sun burned and wet when it rains. If you ask me why there are lots of motorbikes here well because it's cheap and we have it here for installment. You also save with gasoline since it's not like cars were you have to fuel your car with 200 pesos or more. In a motorcycle you're already full tank with less than 400 pesos. People here in my place enjoy doing OBT with the motorbike..

I didn't used to be, but yesterday, riding on the back of my boyfriend's motorbike I suddenly felt very uncomfortable and insecure. I'm still not sure why.

I love my motorcycle, I love the feeling I have when I'm riding, I love riding on the back of my husband's too. The only time I ever feel any bit of fear is when people in cages (cars) drive bad around me, do not pay attention to me, think that because my bike takes up less space than their car that they can do whatever they want. My sense of awareness is so much more heightened because I ride (even when I'm in my car now) and I know my options when I'm riding. I am not more prone to accidents myself but the likelihood of getting hurt because some idiot driving a car is higher but I don't stress about those things because life is going to happen whether I'm afraid or not.

I have to ride my motorbike to work every day. Although it is very dangerous on the road, I must always wear the helmet to protect my head. I prefer to drive a car, but I have no choice. Driving a car is better than riding motorbike, because the iron will protect your skin or meat. If riding on the motorbike, you skin or meat will cover the iron.

my husband rides a motorcycle every day. most bikers are better drivers than people in cars. I don't worry about folks on bikes. i worry about the cars around them that drive like idiots, and cause accidents. One of the most dangerous things you can do with your life is be out on the road. It's safer to fly in a plane, more people die every day in car accidents. So you are taking a risk whether you are in a car or on a bike.

I'm always just scared enough to keep me safe! I came back to riding in my 40's after a gap of 25yrs. I stay 100% alert and anticipate that every other road user will do the wrong thing! I look for trouble all around me so that it doesn't take me by surprise when it happens! I always wear protective clothing as I've become very attached to my skin over the years! I choose not to take pillions as I only want to be responsible for keeping myself safe! Cheers, Sue.
