This happened in Cleveland. This male teen raped his ex-girlfriend and she filed. They put him under 'house arrest' instead of incarcerating him. (I didn't know this, but I guess it's fairly common.) He was so angry at his ex that he went and shot at her while she was in her car and blew off half her face! She's facing at least a dozen surgeries for an attempt at restoration!
Ironically, the magnistate was a women and wouldn't comment. Do you think it was taken seriously because they had been involved at one point? Shouldn't rape be treated as rape, no matter the victim? It lends me to wonder if this had been the magnistate's daughter who was raped if this kid would have been given 'house arrest'. And now his actions might give pause to other girls about whether they should report a rape or not; if they do, they might suffer even more (and perhaps worse)consequences!

OMG that poor young woman. She did not deserve that. It's horrible that the system let her down so much. I know that rape cases far too often do not get the justice they deserve but that one really fell short. I bet the Judge did refrain from making any comments. She knows that she could have prevented it and she did nothing to keep that girl or others safe from that monster.
