Does anyone know what I'm talking about? The first thing that would come to mind is like a dog whistle. I remember being in the States and at the 7-11, or convenience store, they have a little thing on the outside.
It makes a really annoying sound if you're near it. But you can only hear it if you're young. I guess it would go up to about a teenager. I remember trying to figure it out as a 7 year old because my mom didn't hear anything.
Anyways, it's just there so that 'troublesome' kids don't hang out by the front of the store. I personally think it's really weird, but at the same time I guess it would be the best solution for the problem.. If I had an alternative, I'd mention it.

I haven't come across this and don't exactly know how this works ,but to me it sounds like they might be using a frequency range that is audible only at a young age.Just like the bats that are blind at night ,but can sense the ultrasonic waves reflected from our bodies or other objects and dogs can hear some frequencies that are not audible to the human ear.I agree that they should use a better method.By the way,you can't edit your posts here .They don't allow it to stop people from editing the posts that are offensive or in violating the guidelines .Welcome to Mylot!
