That is surely true! If we live in the past, or worry about the future, we are missing the present. And since we can't go to or change the past, and the future soon enough becomes the present, we miss a lot of life and living..

I really wish I could do that but I think every woman ( and man) worry what will happen to their children or their grandchildren , My parents both have Alzheimer's as you know and I try not to but I do worry what is going to happen to them in the future , will I still be able to take care of them in their own home , we try so hard not to worry , but if that's your nature it is so hard to go against it , xxxxx

No you can't change the past, but you can enjoy today and look foward to another day tomorrow. My motto is life is what you make it. So make it great!.

I absolutely agree with you. There's no use in worrying about something we don't have control over. As my dad wold always say to my mom who is a worry-wart, don't let yourself die a thousand times. Worrying is like showing distrust towards God. If we trust God enough, then we know that He will not forsake us no matter what the future holds.

I agree with you and live with the quotation that hangs on my kitchen wall..."Today is the tomorrow we worried about yesterday...and all is well." So much of what people worry about never happens. I have come to see that all we have is each moment...and life can change in an instant. Worrying about what happened in the past is pointless...as one wise person said; "Even God cannot change the past."
After years of worrying and fretting and 'shoulding myself' for years I finally made a decision to stop the insanity of it all...and live in the joyful now-ness of my moment by moment experiences. This "Que Sara...Sara...What will be will be attitude has made my life much happier...and healthier.

Thank you for the positive feedback! Feel free to tae the quotation and use it in whatever way uplifts you and anyone else you'd care to share it with.
In my view we are all students and teachers to each other and anytime we can...'pay good things forward' it creates a ripple effect that adds to the greater good.
Remember the song..."Don't worry...be happy!"
Cheers!

I try to enjoy the present as much as possible. Nevertheless I do worry about the future now and again. Sometimes I just can´t help it, because it´s difficult to enjoy the present when we´ve got a lot of problems.
It´s important though to develop positive thinking to a maximum and not to think too much about what´s expecting us in the future.
One thing that´s a hundred per cent true is that we can´t control the past. Unfortunately...

Yes, I agree with you. Positive thinking can help us not to worry. We can´t change the past, but by being positive we can assimilate and digest the negative things in it.
You don´t need to apologize, dear. I´m terribly late with responding to people "lately". Just can´t concentrate. Not to worry :-))

You are so right. I have worried about things and then when they happen they are not half as bad as I thought they were going to be.
But then I think if I worry, it makes them turn out less painful. Therapy needed me thinks!!

I am so sorry that I didn't answer your response AmbiePam - can you believe I missed it for so long? I won't get upset cos I cannot change it! lol Seriously though I can understand why you don't want your grandma to worry but you know despite what I said some people thrive on it - maybe your grandma is one of those people! xxx

Hi mummymo! :) You're right about that. Worry rocks our boat and keeps us "busy", but we go nowhere. Worry just makes us miserable today. You're right about that. Let's always savor the present moment. (",)

I always do, stay in the past, now want to alter the situation, no courage to take steps, it was stated that because it missed the stars and weeping, will miss the moon, I know, but is incapable of change...
