OK I am an American. Here, there is no such thing as a disobedient wife. Even if a wife cheats on her husband. It is not disobedience. Disloyalty maybe. I have been taught that disobedience is for animals, children's or slaves. Not for grown adults who are free to choose how they live. I am not bashing anyones religion. I am just saying I don't understand the words disobedient wife. Could you have a disobedient husband as well? Or is it only for the women? I was raised to believe I was equal in every way shape or form to a man. If i am with a man he tells me I have to do something or I am disobedient I would tell him exactly where he could put his disobedience and would walk out the door. Probably end up in divorce court unless he changed he way of thinking really quickly. That is my feelings on the disobedient wife. Let me know yours.

MsSnow...
I agree with you about the disobedient wife thing in the context you are referring to. I think if that's the case, then husbands would far out rank wives in 'disobedience'! (Sorry guys!! That's the truth as I see it!)
BUT...my Webster's says:
Disobedient (adj) - refuses to obey.
Obey: (verb) Follow the commands or guidance of...
Do you agree that children need to learn to follow the commands or guidance of their parents and their elders? So what would you call it if they didn't? I would call that disobedience...
I think that until children are old enough to know better than you do, they need to learn to 'obey' you. And when they don't, they are being disobedient.

I apologize MsSnow...
I see now that you didn't really agree with the children thing either...
In that case...I am in total agreement with you! ;)

Yes children should mind their parents. Because they are not old enough to know what is rght for them at all times. What does this have to do with disobedient wives? A wife is old enough to know right from wrong and to know what she wants and needs. She is not being disobedient for doing what she wants to do. She should not have to follow commands or guidance of her equal. Which is her husband. I do consider husband and wife as equals.

I agree with what you are saying, but I would not even use that word for children. Maybe mis-behaving, but not disobedience. That word I think should be used only for descibing how a animal misbehaves, not a human being.

This is sad but i think you all should actually get divorce and get things sort out . or else things might get worst . even if you all can't be husband and wives but you all still can be friends isn't it .
