The go karts are a good idea, as is the cruise. Maybe you should consider "kidnapping" him and taking him to play paintball for a day. When my best friend got married a couple of years ago we all organised for him to have a day at a local go cart track. They went racing for a good part of the day and in the evening we organised a meal at a local place, and they put together a "kiddies party" type thing - it was hilariously funny and everyone really enjoyed themselves.
