Why is mike shinoda on Fort minor now...?

Do anyone know the reason for mike shinoda shifting from liknik park to fort minor...? Tat doesnt sound so good for linkin park fans... and thrs no album from them too.... won they perform together then..?

It was just a side project for him. Linkin Park is still together, they have a new album called Minutes to Midnight coming out on May 15th.
The new single is to be released sometime in April.
