Just curious to see if there is anyone out there who has read any of Torey Hayden's books. I have and i must say that each and everyone of the ones ive read so far have captured me to the point where weeks after im done with the book, i still catch myself thinking about the kids in the book. Anyone?

Yesterday I researched Torey Hayden on the net to find out all the title of her books and found a few that I havent heard of. The tirtles that I found were Somebody Else's Kids, One Child, Ghost Girl, The Tiger's Child, Twilight Children, Just Another Kid, Beautiful Child, Silent Boy, Overheard in a Dream, Murphy's Boy, The Sunflower Forest, Mechanical Cat and Very Worst Thing. I have only read two of these books and will be trying to read the rest. Are there any books listed here that you have read and didnt like? Have you read all these books??

Well the books "overheard in a dream", the sunflower forest", "very worst thing" and "mechanical cat" are fiction books's she wrote. Those i haven't read. But the others i have and i can tell u that not a single one i didnt like. I think all of them made me cry and they were all very catchy. And by the way, "Murphy's boy" and "Silent Boy" are the same book. "Silent Boy" is the title of the book in Britain.

I knew she wrote fiction and non-fiction books, but didnt realise that Silent Boy and Murphy's Boy were the same book, just different title! Have you read her fiction books aswell as her non-fiction books? If you had to pick a favourite which one would you pick??

I have read one child and somebody elses child but would love to read her others. I love the way she gave the children time to come out of their shells whereas everyone else wouldnt give them the time or day and just wanted to throw them away like trash. It would be good if she would do a book about how they children she cared for and how they ended up, whether they were able to live 'normally' in the community. I do wonder about the children in the books, i think Torey is wonderful. She was very patient and had a very special way about explaining things to the children so that they would be able to understand about any changes that would make them feel unsettled!

I have read all her books and I must say that each and every time, I'm glued to it until im done with the very last page. When it comes to what happens to the children, there is a book about what happens to Sheila from "one child". The book is called "Tiger's child" and definitely worth reading!
