I submitted a short 521-word article to AC on 2/28, and today I accepted their offer of $3.14.
After doing some research on AC, I knew that would be more or less, the price they'd offer for a short article like that. So I actually wasn't dissapointed. Sure- more would have been better, but like I said- that was what I was expecting based on a little research.
This is still part of my own little on-going experimenting with AC optomization, to test the differences in pay regarding the low range, mid range and the higher end of it-as far as word lengths are concerned.
A 521-word article like that, is only a little less than 1.5 pages on my Word processor. So it's not very long at all.
All I need to do now is just produce 16 of those a day- and I'll break the $50 a day mark! Highly unlikely! LOL
I will be finishing up another project for them in a couple of days that is currently at 3000 words. I'm curios what the difference in pay will be.
This one here is more than 5x longer than this first one- but if the pay difference is only 2 or 3 dollars more- then might as well stick to the very minimum-lengthed articles of 400-500 words like the one they've just accepted.
I'll keep you informed.

I don't think they pay by word length. My average is around $7 to $8 since I submit a lot of college papers (always $4). Without those, I'd say I average $10 an article. My articles are all generally 2 to 3 of their pages, yet some get $8 and some get $10 or $15. It depends on how popular the topic will be I think, along with how well written the article is.

Great info! It sure would be nice to know the average word-length of your college papers and that of your 2-3 page articles. I'm just a little curious.
I know that quality and popularity matter- but I still feel, based on a bit of research, that word-length is also factored in somewhere in there.
For example, what would pay more Between two articles of EQUAL quality AND popularity; a short one with the word count of their listed minimum of 400 words? Or the one with their listed maximum of 10,000 words? Both of equal quality and popularity.
I just can't see them paying the same for both. I could be wrong. But I personally feel that in general, the longer worded articles, would generate a littl more $'s.

On college papers length doesn't matter. Some are one page, some are 10 pages long. All college papers are $4.
I don't know word counts, only pages sorry. I don't write the articles in Word.
Word length might be factored in now, as they have added cents instead of just dollar amounts. But it doesn't seem to be significant. I don't add extra words for filler because it doesn't seem to make a difference. And you might get less money for just trying to make more words.

Again- Great Info! Thanks. You seem to be pretty busy there yourself.
I need to start generating a little more writing for them myself. I just started this online money-making opportunities about 8 days ago and currently am on here and have two other blogs. And thus far between them, I've earned just under $2- even though I have 15 referrals under me here.
With just a very short article- 1.5 pages, that I sold to AC, I've earned $3.14! So it looks that for now- I might just have to concentrate a little more on writing for AC.
Good luck to you and continued success!

If you would like to make a little more for your writing, you should check out Constant Content. They offer your articles for sale to third parties who need content. You can set your own price but must wait for you article to sell. I have made as much as $50 from one article, and I know that some will sell for more. If you are interested, here is my referral link:

Thank you and yes, I too am already a member of CC.
I am very new to all of this- I just started about a week ago. I subscribe to: mylot, AC, Blogchex, Blogger, and CC.
I started all of them at the same time.
I was thinking about submitting to CC at one point- but at the moment, I really can't afford for the waiting around until it sells. I might though, in the near future.
Thanks again.
