Cricket is a sport, every sport has its fan following it. its a way of entertinment and spending sum good time after the busy life. watching cricket does not effect in any way the working of the system wthether economically or socially. If you take the case of football, the govts in major football playing nations, keep holidays on day match days. this is just to give people a incentive to refresh themselves and work better. its a adminitrative essential, help in enhancing the workin capabilities and efficiency of the working class.
