I don't watch the news so I did a search to find out what you were talking about. For anyone else who is interested here is a link to the story: http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20070307/en_nm/media_america_dc_1
Personally I think it's a lousy thing to do. They should not have done this to Captain America. He is a symbol but more then that it is not one that can just be passed on to another man to take over. Steve Rogers was unique and to possibly try and put someone else in the role as Captian America is wrong. I know Marvel is saying nothing is certain but it does seem wrong to try and boost sales in such a way.

I'm over on 4chan /co/ arguing the exact same case. They treated his character totally out of fashion. He was acting so strange lately, all due to crap writing.
And now they've killed him. Just last week he was being chewed out by a reporter for not going on Myspace or going to see NASCAR. And he didn't have anything to say in response, Cap, the speech maker who stared down Thanos.
Marvel is just irking me.

Well, if I've learned anything about the comic industry, it's that even if they kill a character, if the demand is enough, they can find a way to bring them back.
I wouldn't be surprised if we see Steve Rogers back as Captain America again sometime down the road.
