At the moment i've taken cuttings of plants and other plants in other peoples gardens.I've set them up in a propergator and waiting on yhem rooting,as you know this is a good way of saving money and maximising your own plants.
I will shortly be sowing my seeds for my borders.Their will be french marigolds and astaras.
What will you be putting in your borders and any you could recommend to me?

Nasturtiums.
They do great in poor soil have interesting leaves and come in a wide range of colors. Plus the leaves are edible.

You could use a few kinds of herbs. Those are really good to deter pests and they smell good also. I love lavender. I got mine at Home Depot and it is growing great, even in dry weather. Plus you can use the dried flowers for scenting your home, which is what I do.
Other easy things to grow in your border are garlic, just take a few cloves and plant. They grow easily. To harvest, you have to wait until the leaves dry up.
I also use French marigolds like you do. In fact, I put them just about everywhere. I love them the best, particularly the petite yellow ones.

Not sure yet. Hopefully my GF and I will start shopping for a house this summer, then I'll finally get a garden. Then we'll see. :-)

monkey grass looks really good around sidewalk or driveway areas, keeps down the weed eating and it multiplies quickly, it roots easy and once you get it going it just multiplies. Good Luck
