hello freinds!
can anyone of you could explain this..actually i have read that direction of tension in string is always upward..
but i have also gone through a statement which is
"if hand expereinces a pull in downward direction then direction of tension will be downward"
plz explain it accurately...

I don't know in which context that was written, but maybe the hand is bound to something below it. What I know is that tension occurs when something is attached to a fixed point in one end and other end is carrying a force. The direction of the tension is always headed to its fixed end. Thus if you pull a string tied to a heavy object, tension will head to the direction of that object, opposite to your force.
