Photoshop is a very powerful and advanced tool for photo editing. But there are a lot of applications that can do the same. Corel Draw for example. These two applications are for serious photo editing jobs. Now, if you prefer fancy pictures, I suggest you practice first with Photo deluxe (also from Adobe). Simple processes like color adjustments and effects can be found there. If you really want to learn photoshop, there are tutorials in the internet, I suggest you search for it. photoshop is my favorite tool when it comes to photo editing. I'm not really that good but at least i know a little. It's easy to learn just read the tutorial section or try browsing in the internet about it. It will help you.
