My sister gave me a cool cooking tip. Whenever you fry a fish (any fish), add a few strips of ginger in the oil and a little in the fish. This would remove the unpleasant fishy smell and taste and would bring out the flavor of you fish more. I even eat the toasted ginger afterwards.
How about you? Any cool tips you want to share?

Thanks a lot of the fish tip. I never tryed the ginger. But I sure will the next time I make fish. I really like fish, but i do not like the fishy smell and taste. If this takes care of the fishy taste I will use the ginger all the time.

That is an awesome tip. I cannot stand the smell of fish. I wish I had a cool tip to share with fish, but I don't, sorry. However, if you bake fish, spray the pan first, so it will lift easier.

THanks for the cooking tips. THis would surely help most of us killing that unpleasant fishy smell. I wish there's something I can share but I don't have any so I'd just thank you for sharing this stuff. More power!

When you're cooking spaghetti noodles, aside from putting oil and salt in the boiling water, add a little vinegar to it. In cooking spaghetti, the noodles is the first one to spoil. The vinegar will lengthen it's life and you can store it in the fridge for a week. When it's already cooked, drizzle your noodles with light Extra Virgin Olive Oil so that it won't be dry when served.

Ginger is really good for lessening or removing unpleasant food smells like that in fish! We also use that when preparing fish soup. It's also good for "gamey" foods like chicken, duck, beef, goat. If you hate the smell of these, you can add a little ginger.
Pasta--after the pasta noodles are cooked, instead of rinsing with tap water, I put lots of (purified) ice cubes. Less messy, less stickiness and I'm sure the water's clean.

I agree with you. Add ginger to remove unpleasant smell of fish and any other seafoods. Likewise ginger remoes the slimy feeling of chicken in soup. You can also add garlic and ginger together when frying fish, in this way, it produces a very good aroma and add extra taste to the fish.Goodluck and enjoy cooking with ginger. Happy posting!

In fact, this benefits me a lot, for any time fresh fish is cooked, i eat and get rid of it immediately. this makes me eat only fried fish.
I think mylotters are good people and share useful information, let him/her who is selfish not equally benefit in here.
