My family loves peanut butter. We like peanut butter fudge, peanut butter ice cream, reece cups..anything with peanut butter! Imagine our surprise when we moved to this town and tasted peanut butter pie for the first time! That was 13 years ago and I have to make them regularly for my crowd now! Here is the recipe I use:
Fast and Fabulous Peanut Butter Cream Pie
Ingredients:
1 graham cracker crust
1-8 oz pkg cream cheese softened 1&1/4 cup powdered sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
1- 9 oz carton whipped topping- divided
Preparation:
Whip cream cheese, vanilla, powdered sugar, and peanut butter together until creamy and fluffy.
Stir in half of whipped topping and beat well for about 1 minute. Pour into graham cracker crust. Add the remaining whipped topping to the pie.
Chill for at lest 3-4 hours. I think it is best when chilled overnight. ENJOY!

Oh, didn't you know that when you place peanut butter in a pie it instantly removes all the fat and calories?! Ha!
p.s. for goodness sake, don't use JIF!

My boyfriend absolutely loves peanut butter so I think he will like this. But it has cream cheese in it and he doesn't like that. I suppose I could make it without him seeing me put it in there.lol. Thanks for sharing.

He won't taste it, I promise! The other ingredients flavor it so very much. I have a son who hates creme cheese but loves this pie!

This sounds fantastic! Next to chocolate, peanut butter is my favorite "food group"! I don't know how much of this filling would actually make it to the crust by the time I was done making it! I'm going to make this over the weekend!

hi thanks for the lovely recipe i willsurely try it and here is one of my favourite recipes for you
Peanut Butter Ice Cream Pie
25 min 25 min prep
Change to: pie US Metric
Filling
1 quart vanilla ice cream
1 tablespoon light Karo syrup
1/2 cup peanut butter (I use chunky peanut butter)
2 tablespoons chopped peanuts
1/4 cup shredded coconut (optional)
Pie Crust
2 1/2 cups peanuts
2 1/2 tablespoons butter
Crust: Finely chop peanuts (Food processor works best).
Mix butter with nuts.
Press mixture into pie pan until it covers entire pan and put in freezer until filling is ready.
Filling: Mix together ice cream, karo syrup and peanut butter.
I found that a Kitchen Aid Mixer or Food Processor works best to mix.
Once mixture is blended together add in peanuts and coconut.
Scoop mixture into pie crust.
It will be fairly soft and should smooth out evenly pretty easily.
Freeze until ready to serve.
I usually make this a few hours before serving, so it has a chance to freeze again (It makes serving much easier if the pie is froze).
hope you liked it

Have you ever tried putting cocoa in with the powdered sugar? You have to sift the cocoa with the sugar to get the right lightness ( for lack of a better word) My brother loves this pie. He requests it every Easter. With the cocoa added, it tastes like Reese cup candy. It gives it a darker color. It is so good. I also use chocolate pie crust sometimes for a change. I take a heath candy bar and sorta shreed it with a knife to add some zip to the top after I add the cool whip. I love it plain like you suggested but this is a way to change it a bit while still being easy and yummy.

Oh villege, I suppose I have to thank you for encouraging me to be even fatter!!! Ha! Those ideas sound great...especially the Heath on top...that is my favorite candy!!!! (I love heath blizzards from dairy queen too!) I hadn' thought about adding chocolate to the recipe in some way...that would make it more like a reese cup!!
