Whats Your Favourite? Fiction or Non Fiction?

I prefer fiction myself. Now I do like historical fiction. I find that can be very good when the author has done their research. I just don't really like to read non-fiction as a general rule. I deal enough with reality without reading about it as well. Reading to me is for enjoyment and I want to escape the world around me not deal more with it.

i like fictions more as compared to the non-fictions. i also like adventure books like 'a journey to the center of the earth'. but my two favourite books are 'lord of the rings' n 'harry potter'.

I read both types but love fictional ones...best to entertain urself,finding good in u n separates ur real life n lets u enjoy few moments of relaxation...i ve read almost every novel of Sidney Sheldon n i m reading Danielle Steeles nowadays...

I also prefer to read Non - Fiction and i hanve not read a fiction novel for a long time now. The last one i read was by Sidney Sheldon it was really a strange one that how could a single woman go against the whole system and in the end emerge victorious.

I prefer non-fiction but do have some favorite fiction writers like Sara Donati,Diana Gabaldon both write wonderful series of books about people in the past.Both are historians and I've learned alot from their books.After I read one of theirs I usually have to dive into history of that era and place to fill in the blanks so to speak.I also liked prehistoric fiction writers Jean Auel and Susan Harrison.They write about strong women and how they survived way back.And Frank McCourt's writing is strong and cultural,Mauve Binchy,Ann Rivers Siddons,Margaret Coel. I could never get into Danielle Steel.I have watched a couple of her movies and they were ok but the books were not for me. Have you read any of my favorite authors? Raydene
