Don't let him. Have him get an X-box 360 instead. PS3 is gonna suck and it won't be worth the money, especially if you gotta buy a new tv to play it on.

You have a new PS3? We already have 2 PS2's and we enjoy them alot. Have never owned an X-Box.

The Ps3 sucks... the xbox 360 is a lot better. The ps3 costs waaay too much for what it is. it's pretty bad.

Did you look into the 360, or did you get the PS3? If you don't want to spend the money on something you don't know about, go to a game store and buy a refurbished X-Box. That way you could check out the system, check out some games (like Halo), then if you like it, you can invest in a 360.

i'm almost afraid to buy new systems anymore.it seems like
everytime you get one,here comes the "new improved version" the next year.
at least they made it retroactive tho so you can still play PS2 games.

yeah, why fix something if its not broken right?? but the new ones are awesome!, the graphics and the game play alone, do you play video games?...i guess it sorta depends on the person, but i love em...not that good at it, and I watch alot...but they have changed a lot from the games we use to play when we were kids...

I have th Xbox 360, PS3 adn Nentendo WII my sons and I use the wii more than any of the other systems not as great as soem but it is more fun and the head to competion in soem of the games is awesome .

Teh WII is great they liek the action games tires them out my sister son lost about 10 lbs since they got it in Dec

10lbs!! thats awesome!!...prehaps I should look into this Nintendo system instead of the PS3, although the hubby loves the PS system...
We had the dance mats on the go here for a while, but the fad quickly wore off...loved guitar hero tho..awesome game..

We have a PS2 Nintendo gamecube and all the kids have a game boy and my son has a DS, way too many video games in this house...lol...but he can only play on the weekends, anyway, the W11 looks interesting...

PS3 is worth the investment, if you ask me. Currently it's still not available in my country but its coming soon, and I can almost guarantee many people will grab it. I'm thinking of getting one too, but only after the price drops.
I think PS3 might be the best console out there, beating even xbox 360 graphically. Although the Wii is phenomenal in introducing a new kind of control, PS3 has a huge fan base, especially in Japan, Sony's stronghold. Therefore, you can be sure that it is of utmost quality and game developers will definitely try to come up with even better games to cater to the huge fan base. I think PS3 will remain hot for at least 5 to 6 years before it starts losing its heat when Sony launches another new console, but I think that's highly unlikely, since PS3 signifies the highest level of perfection in the console industry currently.
The core microchip boasts to have teraflop speed. You know what that means? Only supercomputer chips can render teraflop speed. This means PS3 will be able to render jaw-dropping graphics that could blow anyone away. Of course there had been many discontent about its launch, but being a staunch supporter of PS3, I really recommend gamers to consider it.

I believe so as well, I think he should either stick with the PS2 or buy an X-Box, the PS3 here is almost 700 bucks, and thats before taxes...
