My hubby and I were on our way to work. WE were in the bus when suddenly I saw these 3 guys dressed like a regular office employee, chewing gum, carrying big bags w/ them. One of them I recognized because of his distinct facial features and his bushy mustache. I can see their modus operandi... they kept on switching seats and stand up when the bus reaches one terminal. I wanted to go down because our office is just one block away and the next terminal is only a loading terminal, I saw them standing in front probably looking for their next unaware victim. They pick pockets, and before I saw them point this small knife to a girl in front of me to get her celphone. That time I panicked so I stood up and got off the bus. Then I saw them go down as well and rode the next bus. This time they did the same thing. When we reached our stop, they went down along with these people crowding the entrance. I guess they were taking advantage of the situation because it was so crowded and they can slip their hands to anyone's pocket w/o getting noticed. I don't what to do... I want to report them but I'm scared. I wanted to shout inside the bus but they might highjack the entire vehicle. I am very familiar with this group because I've encountered the 3 times already, and whenever that happens I just get off the bus feeling so scared and nervous.

You definitely need to report them before they cause harm to you or someone else. You've seen them enough to help the police make composite sketches of them for identification. If you report them then maybe the police can put someone on the bus route to catch them in the act.

you know what i've been thinking about that aswell... but here in our country sometimes these policemen cover for these kinds of people. What I just did a while back was wrote directly to the municipal mayor. I'm kinda scred as well to go to the police because I had a bad experience with them before.

Wow! That sounds really scary on so many levels. Being robbed is so violating, and if these guys have knives, even if they are small one, there is a real element of danger.
I think you made the right choice keeping quiet on the bus, no need to take things into you own hands. What I would reccomend is talking to the police. Let them know what bus you keep seeing these guys on. It sounds like you have a good idea of what they look like, so maybe you can describe them and give the police a good idea of what to work.
Do you canrry any type of self defense item with you? Perhaps some pepper spray isn't a bad idea. Hopefully it will make you feel a liitle more secure.

Above all you must keep your own personal safety in mind as well as the safety of those around you. I suggest next time you get off of the bus that you go to the nearest telephone and call the police and tell them just what you've told us here. Then let them take care of it. That's their job. Not yours.
